Default the pill and getting diagnosed

Hi...I am not diagnosed yet, but I want so much to be a newbie here because a PCO diagnosis would give me answers as to why I am experiencing these heart-breaking symptoms (I realize it could be some other problem, but my family history suggests PCOS).

I taken ortho cyclen for many years and now is not the time for me to take a hiatus. Is there a way to get a PCOS diagnosis without bloodwork? Am I correct to think that the pill would make my testosterone levels appear un-naturally low?

These are my symptoms: hirsutism (though my derm thinks it is not quite enough to be classified as hirsutism), male pattern baldness (a bad case of it), and a mild case of acne (that got worse on the pill). I have high LDL, high HDL, slightly elevated blood pressure, but low triglicerides. I am 5'2 and 118 pounds, but I exercise a lot to maintain my weight and I eat healthfully. I have gained a little weight in the last six months for unexplained reasons, though I am starting to lose it again for unexplained reasons. My family history is full of diabetes (type 2) and heart disease.

I would appreciate any information on whether it is possible to receive a reliable PCO diagnosis without bloodwork, as it is an inappropriate time for me to stop taking ortho cyclen.

Thank you,

You'd have to ask your doctor, I don't know. But if you talk to your doctor about your concerns and how you think it may be PCOS, I'm sure they could tell you if it would be worth going off BCP for a diagnosis or not (and then of course it'd be up to you which is more important right now)

good luck!
