Lately I've been experienceing somthing that i was hoping someone could shed some light on or at least calm my nerves about.
I've been having a pinkinsh/brownish discharge. It's pinkish like the beginning of spotting, and brownish like the very end of AF when the bleeding is tapering off. The discharge is very light, not a flowing type thing like AF.
The first time I got this, it had just started and I had a GYN appt for a pap. I told her about it (i thought it might be AF) and while she was doing her exam, she said she could see some slight bleeding from the vaginal wall, but nothing from the cervix where it would be if AF was happening. Ok, fine, i thought. let's see what happens. Well, it lasted for a little over a week, and it appeared to get heavier during the middle. So it kind of mocked a true AF, but it was very strange. I didn't think much of it,. Well, that was in december. In Feb, the same thing happened again. No symptoms of AF, then one day i went to the bathroom and wiped and saw the pinkish discharge again. My CM is heavier during these whoe fake AF's too, so i don't know if that means anything. Well, it followed the same pattern as the one in Dec. This time it started to get me a little worried, though, because i don't know what's going on. GYN had done extra tests for other things during pap in Dec due to the vaginal wall bleeding, but all tests came back ok. Well, i let it go one more time and now here i am in March and it's happeining again. I made an appt for my GYN but i can't get in there for 3 weeks, so i also made an appt for my regular doc (who knows my situation and can do pap type tests as well). I was just wondeing if anyone knows what the crap might be going on with me. A couple of months ago, my Thyroid levels showed up borderline low, so i din't know if that has anything to do with it. I did a little research on the internet about the discharge and it ranged everywhere between yeast infection and vaginal cancer. Not very calming, really.
Thanks for listening cysters. I'm a little uneasy about it all, and any input you have is much appreciated.

It might actually be your body trying to ovulate. Especially if your CM is getting thicker around that time.
Some women get some spotting around the time of ovulation.
Let us know what your dr says.

well, today i go see the dr. the "discharge" if that's what it is has gotten heavier over the past day, and more pink than brownish. that's what makes me think it's af. has anyone had af like this - really super light - before?
well, i guess i'll find out later. i'll keep you guys posted

Ok, well i went to the doctor yesterday. She didn't seem overly concerend about the whole thing, but she did order a Pelvic ultrasound (that she said may lead to a vaginal ultrasound depending on what they see - ugh! i had once once - no fun)to see if a cyst burst or if there was a polyp or something like that. So i get to go do that tomorrow. She took three vials of blood and is testing all the horomone levels and thyroid counts and whatnot. she said it's most likely just me having all messed up horomones and that it sounded like my body was trying to have af. well, that's what i had thought too, but it's just weird. She advised me to keep my appt with my GYN for next month and perhaps make one with my endoc. so i guess i really don't know too much more than i did before

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is similar, but there were a couple of times where I had heavy, non-stop bleeding that was very pinkish and clotty. Both times it ended up being uterine polyps, that were surgically removed, through a scope.

That's completely possible, i'm sure. The bleeding for me isn't heavy, it's very light. But even the doc said it could be polyps that had burst. thanks for the info, jenna. Was the polyp removal surgery awful?

Hi,
The surgery itself was a laparoscopy, scope. I think the worst thing about the surgery is the bowel prep and gas pain afterwards!
