Default Pittsburgh, PA with a twist.

First time here. And Im looking for a good doc in Pittsburgh. I dont know if I need an OB/GYN or an Endo. I am very new to all this.

I had my first pap about a week ago, at the ripe age of 21. Yes I know, WAY LATE. But I hadn't gotten my period for the last three months, and I was starting to get worried. This wasn't the first time it had happened, but all the other times I just passed it off as "normal" because everyone told me it was regular to be irregular sometimes. So being that Im 21, I should almost be set in my ways.

So I went to see Dr. Barrett. I don't know if anyone has dealt with him before, but it was terrible. I felt awkward, and he set me up with BC. After the pap and the other thing he does, I was telling him about my issues with my period again, and weight, and he was just like yes, it sounds like PCOS, take the BC, and most of the issues should clear up.

I took that for face value, cuz I didn't know. But when I got home, I read, and got into it. There was no discussion of tests, or any such thing. He just sort of blew it off.

So now its a week later.. and im on my 10th day of this "period" thing I got. I want to go to another doc, a good one and get a real opinion this time.

My twist, I need it on the busline and I'd prefer women, or a completely old man. I currently live in Greentree, and I'd definitely be willing to travel to Oakland, or anywhere really the bus can take me within reason. My roommate has a car, but its not always available. Also, lucky enough I have insurance, so that isnt a issue, its BCBS.

And Im definitely not TTC.

Thanks,

Shana
