Default Plano (DFW) Texas - Anyone know about....

Dr. James W. Douglas in Plano?? I'm bound and determined to get a new doctor, and he's an RE who's also an OB/GYN. He also (according to his profile) specializes in PCOS.

Anyone??

TIA!

My friend saw Dr. Douglas. She doesn't have PCOS, but she really liked him and he helped her get pg. On the "pen pals" board here, there is a thread for cysters in TX, and a couple of ladies have mentioned Dr. Douglas. He seems very highly regarded.

I went to Dr. Brian Barnett. (I don't know if this is your old doctor and the reason you are trying to find a new one?) I really liked him and his nurses alot. He seemed very knowledgeable about PCOS and monitored me very closely while on injectibles because of it. Dr. B and Dr. D don't practice together but they do cover for each other, so if you are pursuing fertility treatments and need to see someone on weekends, you could be seen by either doctor.

Take care.

I see Dr. Douglas--or I've seen him once, at least! I was dx by my ob/gyn, and sent to an RE for TTC. Dr. Douglas does NOT practice ob/gyn, on RE/infertility. His staff is great, and the u/s tech yesterday shared that she, too, has PCO (and 3 kids!). Dr. Douglas was very confident that I'd be pregnant in 3 months, too!

His treatment plan, since I have a diagnosis, was provera --> clomid --> u/s to confirm size of follies --> trigger shot if all was well --> post coital exam + progesterone test. Unfortunately for me, this first Clomid cycle was a bust (follies < 8 mm at cd 15), so the RN gave me BCP, and I am waiting to hear back about cycle #2...

i saw dr. douglas too. he listened to everyword i had to say and i never once heard about my weight problem from him. he would first set a "cycle plan" and it would tell you everything you would need to have done and on what cycle days. i dont think he does the ob/gyn stuff, but he does specialize in PCOS and infertility. when 2 clomid rounds busted i told him i wanted to try injectables and he said "ok"..didnt try to talk me out of it or anything. he did seem very confident that i would be pg in three months, and the third month was it. i had a 2 1/2 hour drive to get to him, so he said he could fax my cycle plan to an OB of my choise closer to home for all the sono's and stuff, but i love the staff at his office and was more then willing to make the drive to see them. i will be using him next time for TTC.(if need be)

good luck,
Melissa
