Please help

Need info. I was diagnosed 3 1/2 years ago with PCOS and have not done anything about it.

I am starting to really see the syptoms besides no period (going on 3 years) Hair loss, weight gain, depression, shall I continue........ recently I have been having some strange discharge (not trying to grose anyone out) its brownish kind of like when your period is ending. Don;t know what to do, don't have health insurance and I'm scared. If you know anything please respond.

The brownish discharge you are referring to sounds like what my body used to do when it was trying to have a period. It was responding the progesterone in my system; however, it was never enough to induce a full flow. I would get a 10-day course of Provera, after which I would start. If your symptoms are getting worse, your hormone imbalance may be increasing. Have you been tested for insulin resistance or diabetes? Are you taking BCP's? Are you eating a low card or diabetic diet?

Regarding your lack of health insurance, do you qualify for Medi-cal of Medicaid? Do you qualify for State ran medically indigent program (county hospital will know about this). Are you a college student that can use the student wellness center for blood work etc?

Your showing the classic PCOS symptoms.I am glad you found this board because there are many
supportive Soul Cysters around that have been going through the same things as you.
If you do not have a period for a while,you get buildup of old dried blood and tissue,and so your body tries to clean itself out by the brown discharge,and Ive had this too so I know exactly what you are talking about.
Eliminate all sugar and high glycemic foods from your diet,it will help regulate your periods..I also do not have health insurance,I know how hard it is.
