A script from the doctor is the preferred method. If that isn't an option, there is progesterone in cream form in Health Food and Vitamin stores.

I would go months at a time (up to 13 months) w/o AF, and when I started Vitex within a few months was having a period every 6 weeks or so.

(And some she listed didn't work either for her) Perhaps Vitex will work for her, but if not, Progesterone may be the next best option in order to avoid BCP.

Lots of girls on the cinnamon thread have gotten AF after months of not seeing her after being on cinnamon a few weeks. So if Vitex doesnt sound like something you'd like to try.. then try cinnamon! Especially if you are one of us insulin resistant cysters. But even if you dont think youre insulin resistant.. theres always a possibility that you are. Especially if your family has a history of diabetes
Just a suggestion
Dont get too frustrated though, there are many other things you can try out! There have been lots of women on here who don't get AF naturally that tried either Vitex, Cinnamon, Progesterone cream or other things to induce AF. I know we all hate Aunt Flow, but we miss her when she hasn't visited for a few months! Its always a hate-hate-love-hate relationship between us lol

Worked better for me than Provera/Prometrium and I didn't have to get an rx for it. To induce o'ing, my magic combo was Met and Vitex (Clomid worked for me as well, but I never got pg on Clomid). As far as I know, EPO (evening primrose oil) doesn't help induce o'ing or AF, so that might be part of the reason why that hasn't worked. Here's an article I found about it, but there may be more evidence that points to it helping in other areas of TTC.

Good luck - I know how frustrating it is when AF won't show up.

I took is for a week and got slight stomach pains and then bleed a lot. It was just after my gestapuren induced period so it was confusing. I don't know if it was good or bad so I stopped taking vitex. I also heard that you could get depressed from eating vitex.
Please tell me how it worked for you.
How does the cinnamon pills differ from the kitchen spice?
