I'm still a little bit new to treating my PCOS. My dr. put me on Progesterone for 10 days to bring on a period (have not had one since beggining of January!) I took the last pill last Friday, 5/2. Since then I have been having terrible bouts of mood swings...and crying and being irational..Im pretty much ridiculous at this point..signs of PMS i usually have... My question is how long after the last pill should I expect AF? Whats the longest i should wait before calling my dr. ?

I am so sorry you are going through this! The same thing happened to me, I was a complete emotional wreck. Your period should start within 10 days after you take the last pill if I remember correctly. | |

When I was on provera, it took anywhere from 5-10 days after taking the last pill to bring on AF. It was all dependent on how long I had gone in between periods. I would call after day 10. It also caused me to be extremely moody and PMS-like.  Hope all works out, and you feel better!

I agree ... call the doc if you don't have AF by 10 days past the last pill. When I took provera, I got mine within 3 days of the last pill, so it might not take that long... I think it just depends on the person. | |

Thank you all for your concerns and advice.
Its been 14 days since my last progesterone pill and no sign of af either :-( I did call the dr.'s today and they are giving it 1 more week and if it doesnt show up then they have to do something else...
Any one know what happens when progesterone doesnt work? They also said that my uterine lining was 21mm thick also.. Just not sure what happens from this point...

Yes its a very uncomfortable wait. I have no idea what they are going to do come friday. If i havnt gotten AF by now i really dont think its coming.
Has anyone taken Progesterone and had it NOT work?

Last time I was on Provera it worked after about 3 days. I am on it again to jump start it after 2 years of not having it (which i know is bad but i had some rough times) I am not even done the damn pills and I am so emotional and PMSY it's ridiculous I only hope it comes soon I have about 3 more pills to go. GL I hope it gets better for you and you get it soon!
