Hi! I'm trying to find out what type of BCP I should be taking. I remember a year or so ago there was a web site about the type of BCP's people with PCOS should take. My doctor gave me samples of Ovcon 35 because AF is so heavy and long. Is this an appropriate choice for PCOS? If anyone knows anything please reply!!!

Ovcon has been shown to help with pcos symptoms because it is fairly high in estrogen effect which mops up the extra androgens. The progestin is also low androgen. Most do not spot with it but then again some do. Many people here have tried a variety and I think the reason no one has posted yet is that we have all experienced different s/e from different pills. There is no one standard reaction.

Look at your symptoms you want to control most and use that to help you select a pill. Maurie Q posted a couple of great sites to help us help ourselves. Check out the sticky and see what might help you. Or.., if you know which symptoms you are looking to control and are considering a particular pill , post that information and you'll get many answers to help you make the decision.
