Hey Ladies,
Thanks for reading this. I am scared because I don't know much about this thyroid TSH levels and I just started looking it up. I was wondering if there is a post that summarizes it for a newbie.
I was just sick (random pain in my side that hurt so bad, breast tenderness, loose bowels, achy, etc etc) and had blood work came back and I was borderline underactive for the TSH.
We're going to check it again in a month, maybe it was because I was sick...I'm just scared. I've been so much, esp the last year health wise and I'm tired. I just want a break not to keep finding more stuff out.( though I guess it's for the best right?? )
So please help because I am scared and don't know. I'm going to make an apt with my repo endo tomorrow for asap and see what he makes of it.
Thank you,
-Falling

Oh, don't be scared at all. I understand what it feels like to go through a lot. I too have been through a lot this year. An underactive thyroid is extremely common and easily treated. If you are borderline, you shouldn't have too many adverse symptoms that would cause you discomfort. If you begin to experience symptoms, call your doctor or make an appt. with an endo. There are tons of people who remain undiagnosed with hypothyroid their entire lifes!

I also had the same thing happen to me. They told me that they were going to check me after two months of being on the meds because sometimes all your levels are just thrown off when you first find out that you have PCOS. I get tested the end of this month. Don't get yourself scared though. Sometimes reading too much makes you get a little paranoid! lol I did the same thing. Just take your meds and you'll be fine!

Thank you both!
That helped me feel a lot better! I am making an apt with my repo endo so hopefully things will and up okay. I appreciate the feed back! I hope you're both doing alright.
xoxo

I was just diagnosed with borderline hypothyroid, too. I took my first supplement this morning.
BTW, you're probably not underactive for TSH, as you said in your first post. Your thyroid doesn't produce TSH, it produces different chemicals, like T4. Your pituitary gland produces TSH which is a signal to your brain that your thyroid chemicals are low and it should order more to be produced. The higher your TSH, the more your pituitary is saying "hey, we're low on thyroid chemicals."
