Default please, help me to read my blood test results

I have just come back from my GP. The funny (and very sad thing at the same time) is that I was literally begging for exactly these results (thank you girls for advises) but he still didn't want to do all of them. So he did a few and they are abnormal. But tell me, please, "how much" abnormal. Here they are:

Serum Prolactin - 160 mIU/l;

Serum progesterone - <0.6 nmol/l

SHBG - 38 nmol/l

Serum androstenedione - 12.1 nmol/l

Serum testosterone - 2.1 nmol/l (this one says "normal")

Here you go - I am so confused: the first doctor told me that I was "fit and healthy", the second visit was even more frustrating as he was the most irogant doctor I have ever met and the third one gave me an example of a woman who managed to conceive with having period once a year !!!
I went to register to the other GP but I still checked my results in my previous GP - and they don't seem to be as of "a fit and healthy" woman are they???!!!
Please, write your comments on my results. Greatly appreciate your help!

Default Re: please, help me to read my blood test results

I have a book which tells me every diagnostic test going, (if anyone else wants to know test results just post)

Serum Prolactin - 160 mIU/l; Adult female-0-25, high prolactin levels are a sign of PCOS. In pregnancy it is anything up to 200, and during sleep most people have the levels people have during pg.

Serum progesterone - <0.6 nmol/l This one is depentant on cycle but it says in the book, that low levels are a sign of ovarian hypofunction, & anything related to miscarriage & the loss of a pg.

SHBG - 38 nmol/l I can't find this one. ???

Serum androstenedione - 12.1 nmol/l This one is normal, it says less than 250, low levels can be a sign of ovarian failure, high levels are a sign of cushing syndrome.

Serum testosterone - 2.1 nmol/l (this one says "normal") for women less than 3.5 is considered normal.

Did you not have your LH & FSH levels tested as than is one of the usual tests for pcos.

If you have any other test results than need looking up or any other questions let me know I couldn't type up the whole answer as there was just too much info.
