I am currently battling the worst vaginal infection of my life. It started out about a month/month and a half ago, and went away, but came back about 2 weeks ago. DBF and I were celebrating our 2 year anniversary, as most couples do hahahaha, and it came back with a vengence.
I visited the doctor, and he diagnosed me with a yeast infection, and put me on Diflucan. It barely touched the infection. I went back to the doctor a week later, and he said it was now a bacterial infection, and put me on Metrogel, which is inserted vaginally. It's helped somewhat, but today, it's been especially bad. I've had these bad sharp, shooting pains in the lips of my vagina. There are sores around my clitoris and opening of the vagina... It hurts to pee, it hurts to sit... WAY TMI. I apologize!! The pain feels really deep, if that makes sense.
I am at my wits end, and wondering if anyone has any idea of what I can do. I've been taking both acidophilis, and just started lactobillis (spelled?) tonight. I've been eating yogurt, and drinking cranberry juice in case it's become a UTI. I tried putting yogurt down there, and it just burned. I tried Uristat to maybe stop the burning when I pee. I've taken a bath with vinegar added to the water. Vagisil seems to help somewhat.
I am diabetic, but my sugars are under good control (usually 110-120 before eating and under 140 2 hours after eating)
Please help me with any info you can. I am seriously at wit's end. It hurts and itches like no one's business...

It could be a number of things at once. You really need to be tested for everything. My friend was treated for thrush, then bacterial vaginosis. It turns out she had both, plus one other that I wont go into details about. Make the doc do swabs and bloodwork!
Thanks Tan! I appreciate it. I feel a tiny bit better today. At least I wasn't gritting my teeth when I peed this morning. If I'm still feeling like this on Monday, I'm going back in. I'll press for more testing, because this is absolutely insane. Thank you again, and I hope your friend is doing better!

I hope it gets better for you soon Lovey -- sometimes it take forever for those things to clear up. Definitely go back in right away if it's not significantly better soon. (((hugs)))

*big hugs* Thank you so much Cathy!! I really appreciate the cysters who have stopped by and read about my issues. I'm feeling a little bit better today, so hopefully yesterday was the really bad day, and I'm over that. *crossing my fingers* Thank you both again!!
