My general practioner in Maple Ridge , BC diagnosed me with PCOS. Dr Luitingh at Golden Ears Medical Clinic did not hesitated to test me after I complained about pain and irregular periods (this is after I have been dismissed by other doctors for years). No surprise, my hormones are nuts and I have multiple cysts. Since my insulin is on the low side of normal and my blood pressure is lower than normal, we haven't tried anything but Yasmin yet.
I went back a couple of days ago, after only being diagnosed three weeks ago, to complain about random, sharp pain around my ovaries. Dr Luitingh immediately booked me an appointment with a very good gyno, Dr Langan, my mother saw him and liked him, and we will see how this goes.
What I like so much about Dr Luitingh is not only was she knowledgable about PCOS, bravo given she is a general practioner, she did not hesitate to give me a referral when she does not know what to do further. I like a doctor that wants what is best for her/ his patients.
Dr. Jennifer Blake is Chief of OBGYN at Sunnybroke and Head of the Women's College program. I've been seeing her for over 2 years, and she is great. If you need more specialized care, she will refer you based on your case., but I felt in good hands with her.
Hi, I am new to this site as well as this area. I am in the Surrey area in BC and am looking for a pcos friendly GP. My experiences in the past have not been good with doctors. Although I did have 1 in the okanagan that I would recommend, he is in Vernon, his name is Dr Upton he is an obgyn. But he is the doctor that diagnosed me and his daughter has pcos as well so he is very knowledgeable.
If anyone has any recommendations for drs in this area please let me know. I do not drive so close to transit would be preferrable. Thank you!
I'm now seeing Dr. Kim Bulter, in Fredericton, NB. So far it has been an amazing experience. I'm in the process of doing some blood work and the whole work up and then we'll see what happens then.

I have been seeing an excellent Naturopath in Toronto. She is at Bay and Bloor on Cumberland and her name is Dr. Jennifer Forgeron. She also does Bowen Therapy and Acupuncture. She is expensive ($130 per hour) but she is treating me as a whole person and it is really working! I am not TTC but she does specialize in women's health.

I was dx'd with PCOS back home (E.Africa). I moved to Canada in 2004. I started seeing Dr. Dixon at Sunnybrook Fertility Centre and CREATE IVF program (Toronto) in 2006. She was very empathizing and I was so impressed with her. But after she started "working" on me I realized that since they had recently opened their new clinic, they were under a lot of pressure (prolly for cash) so she pushed me into IVF after trying just one round of Clomid. To cut a long story short, I ended up spending a lot of my hard earned money on unneccessary and unsuccessful treatments. Also the nurses and support staff were horrible.
This year I have started seeing Dr. Cadesky at LifeQuest in Toronto (655 Bay st). He is absolutely amazing!!! I wish I had gone to him in the first place. He doesn't pressure you into anything and is so thorough and he makes sure you know exactly what is happening in your body. His support staff is also too good. I would reccommend him to everyone.

Hi,
has anyone seen Dr Pamela Frank (natrupath and acupanturist) in Toronto?
she is specialized in womens problems pcos, hair loss and...
I was seeing someone els at absolute heath clinic she wasn't helpful at all.I spend 600 $ and got no result.
I'm just so tired of trying different doctors.been to 2 different endos and all they offer is spiro or Bcp and I'm allergic to all of them any synthetic hormones.they just dont understand, no choice either this or that.
I've seen her articles and that she has experience in treating pcos but I really need some body's opinion before I spend another $600 .
Thanks

Got my dx at Victoria Fertility Clinic last year. Ended up getting pregnant sans meds the month before treatment to start so no longer with him. Baby is now born and symptoms are coming back with a vengance.
Who else besides Dr Hudson in Victoria is good? I have been refered to Dr Stevens (Endocronologist) to track down why I wasn't producing milk but I am not sure if he is PCOS savy.
