My 2.5 yr old DD they have found has immunity problems along with food allergies and reoccurent vomiting, We are offThursday June 15 for a 6-7 hr drive for her appointment on June 17 Friday to a Immunologist/Allergist Dr at KU Medical Center, Please pray they find out what is wrong with her and are able to fix the problem. We Thank you for all your prayers!!!

 I'm so sorry your DD is going thru this, but I hope ya'll will find the answers you need with the doctor.

HI everyone,
to be honest I am totally let down by the appointment, I will tell you what happened and let you tell me if I am being an overprotective Mommy, We get there and these two male medical students who work for Dr. Nancy Olson, come in and do Aspen's history, now mind you I brought all her Medical records from our regular PCP and Her allergy Dr. plus gave them the Pedi Gasternologist name and phone number (they wanted to charge me 5.00 a page for her records so I didn't get them)  Anyway they are doing her history and then they look at her, Now Aspen has had transdermal allergy testing (that is where they put the allergen under your skin with a syringe and needle, she has also had a RAST test which is where they draw blood and test it against all things that people are allergic to, both of these tests from her Allergist, WHO is not an immunologist but just an allergist came back Positive she is allergic to dairy, eggs, Peanuts, and Wheat)....So this immunologist/allergist Dr sends in another Med student who does the Prick skin test (that is where they take a push pin type thing and but the allergen on it and prick the skin on your back) They did this yesterday and said "she is NOT allergic to ANYTHING" which our first allergist said she is through two tests, So 1. I am not happy they did a skin test,as I don't belive this is in depth enough 2. The dr did take blood to see if she has immunity problems this is a plus....The Dr mostly wanted to concentrate on her having GERD, which the Pedi Gasternologist said she has a very slight case of GERD, but this dr wanted to totally consentrate on that instead of anything else, SO I am very disappointed to say the very least, what do you think? Also I am thinking of writing a letter to the Medical Center telling them what this dr did or should I say didn't do and how she blew us off, but I want to know what everyone else thinks first!!! again thank you for all your prayers!!!!!!! My Cysters are the BEST!!

Glad ya'll had a safe trip, but I'm so sorry it was a disappointment. I have been blown off many times by doctors and I think I know how you feel...
I don't think you're being an overprotective Mommy... You're a Mommy trying to do what is best for your child. I wish I had some advice for you, but it sounds like you're on the right track writing the appropriate people.
Are you going to try to find another specialist? Ya'll will continue to be in my prayers.

Amber, I am gonna talk to her regular Allergist and she what she has to say and I am gonna ask her to run the RAST test again, and to check her immunity system as she has the capabalities to do this, and I am gonna compare them with the other Drs in Kansas City and then I once we receive these results from our regular allergist I will go from there, BUT if our regular allergist tests come back she is allergic and having immunity problems like we have been told I am gonna hunt high and low for a New Pediatric Immunologist!!! I have to do what I think is best for my baby as I would never in a million years forgive myself if something happened to her if I can make it stop!! Thanks for your advice and support and prayers!!!! I also just have to fully rely on god to help me and guide me. I know everything one way or another is going to be fine!

Just wanted to let everyone know since the immunologist only wanted to concetrate on her GERD and said to raise her meds which we didn't do, her Pedi Gasternologist wants to see her so we are off to Oklahoma City July1 for a check up with him...I just pray that someone can help us, at least the Pedi Gasternologist acts like he cares about Aspen which is more than I can say for the Immunologist.
