I am in need of some serious prayers right now. My DH and I have been TTC for 25 months. was diagnosed PCOS in August and told I was not ovulating. I have been on met and Clomid now for about three months and I am finally ovulating. Yesterday I went in for an HSG and found out there may be an issue with my cervix. They tried three times but could not get the catheter in and it was extremely painful. I have an appointment with an obgyn this morning to have my cervix checked then they are going to dialate me. I was warned that this is going to be very painful. I only hope that the vicodin and vallume they are going to put me on helps. Then this afternoon I have another attempt at an HSG. I have been crying since I left the doctor's office yesterday and I am emotionally drained. I try to believe that God does not give us anything that we can't handle but I don't know how much more of this I can go through.

Oh Kellie, I will pray for you. I know I also try to tell myself I'm only given what God knows I can handle but that's hard to remember sometimes.
Try to be strong and go ahead and cry as much as you need to.

I am so sorry to hear this news, Kellie. I hope and pray that all goes well for you at this appointment and at your subsequent HSG.
For what it's worth, at my HSG the doctor had trouble with my cervix. She told me I had a 'tilted' cervix, and that it pointed off to the left instead of straight. I was told it does not affect conception rates. I hope this is the case for you.
God bless.

I had a similar experience -- I went for the HSG at the hospital radiology dept (because it was closer to my office) and they tried three times and couldn't get the catheter in b/c they said i have a narrow cervix. I was really worried. Then I went to the RE's office to try the HSG again and the RE had no trouble getting the catheter in and said that my cervix was totally normal but finding the entry point was just a bit tricky. Once she found the entry point, it was fine. I think the radiologist just doesn't do HSGs that often, whereas the RE does them all the time so she knew a bit better what angle was better etc. Hopefully, when you go again they won't have to dialate you. Good luck!!!

Ok so I made it through the first part they did dialate me. I really hope none of you ever have to go through that (doctor said it can me more painful than labor) They did not put me on anything before like they said they would. This doctor was really good though and he has made special arrangements so that he can do the hsg for me this afternoon and he gave me vicodin and vallume to take before I go in later. He said he did not see anything wrong with my cervix. He also said after what I just went through the hsg will be easy and should not hurt too much. I am still cramping a little from earlier and a bit uncomfortable. I am hoping for the best this afternoon.

HSG is done!!!! It went so much better this time (I think it took longer for me to get cleaned up after than the entire procedure did) It was a little uncomfortable but I was on valume and vicodin. Just when it started to really hurt it was over. I was a little dizzy when I went to the bathroom to change/clean then came out to where DH was waiting and started to pass out. I'm finally home and just going to relax and watch tv the rest of the evening. I have also decided to take tomorrow off as a mental health day after everything I have been through the last two days. We may start BD as early as tomorrow, although he is worried it may hurt me after the past two days I said I think I'll be ok. I should o this weekend!
