They were in an ATV accident Saturday afternoon. My brother has some strains/sprains, but checked out okay in the ER. My nephew (7 y/o) was knocked unconscious and had to be taken to Children's Hospital in Cincy. He has a severe concussion, a busted mouth, a sprained shoulder, and some cuts and scrapes.
They were on a utility quad on their family's farm and were going over the hill to put out corn feed. The quad malfunctioned and couldn't stop or change gears. My brother steered it into some fence posts to prevent them from losing control and going into a dry creek bed full of rocks, but it was still a very bad accident.
My nephew was released tonight and seems to be doing alright, but I would appreciate any prayers and positive thoughts that you can send his way. I am praying that he continues to do well with no complications, and that my brother continues to do well also.
Again, I would appreciate ANY prayers/positive thoughts you can send! They both mean the world to me, and my nephew is honestly the light of my life. I have been physically ill today because of this.

Father, we come to boldly but humble saying thank you. Thank you for keeping these two for we know it could have been worse. Thank you for your protection, strenght, comfort, and love. Lord, we know you can do all things but fell. You said in your word "by your stripes" we are healed. I pray right now in the name of Jesus that you touch all involved from the top of the head the soles of the feet. Let your healing oil run fresh, let a new anoiting run warm in their veins. But let them not forget it is you and you alone and we will be forever greatful to give you all the glory, honor and praise. Amen. Be blessed my Cysters!
I just wanted to update everyone and let you all know that they are thankfully doing much better today. Of course, they are both still very sore, but no major problems. My nephew is doing very good. He still complains of a very slight headache, but no worrisome symptoms.
Thank you all for the prayers! I am continuing to pray that there recovery remains smooth and that they have no long-term problems.
I hear of so many ATV accidents and it makes me sick to my stomach. You always think of them as being accidents when people are joyriding-racing, etc. You don't think of it happening during farm work on a utility/work ATV. This just goes to show you accidents can happen even when you aren't acting irresponsibly.
