Default PLease tell me I am not alone!

I started Met about a year ago, I worked up to 1500mgs daily, but then the diarrhea was unbearable, so I dropped down to 500mgs.

My last few cycles were a little weird, so I went back up to 1000mgs, and the diarrhea is back. I haven't had a solid bm in weeks.

I talked to the Pharmacist that I work for and she really has no suggestions, all the medication inserts say the diarrhea should go away...

Does it?

I spend 1/4 of my day on the toilet, help! PLease!

You are definitely not alone! Although I don't have side effects with Met or Gluc, many others do. Please check out this link to a sticky from the Metformin forum discussing how to deal with the side effects:

post your tips on dealing with gluc/met side effects

Are you eating with your pills? I have to break my two pills up, take one with breakfast and one with lunch. I too had awful bms when I went to 1500-2000. So the pharmacist I work for said to break them up in the day time and go down to 2 a day, with food.

I forgot to add, I had to switch to the ER form, the normal metformin was murder on my stomach! The ER works great!
