Please tell me I got some middle-eastern/Arab cystas!
This is so hard on Arab women, you ladies know what the culture is like whether you're Christian/Muslim-- you know what jerks others can be if they know you're having uterine problems.
Any of my Arab cystas out there? I'm a Canadian Arab BTW, but it doesn't matter, hope you're here!
I'm Iranian... I know quite a few fellow Persians out there with PCOS. As if the facial + body hair isn't bad enough already when you're Middle Eastern, haha
Hello, I am from Jordan and I have PCOS. I am 26 now and I was diagnosed with it when I was 16. I cannot tell you how much I suffered since then from dealing with my facial hair to missing my periods. This disease changed my life.
Hi, I am Arab-American. Of course dad is the Arab. Lived half my life in both places and consider Arabia my home. I'm in the US and have JUST been diagnosed. Telling my parents was hard but living with it soo far when you have arabs as familf and friends who WILL NOT UNDERSTAND is even harder...
I am new to this website, I'll do an introduction soon.. I am Egyptian/Mexican, I have had PCOS since I was 18 (probably even before that, but I was diagnosed at 18). I cannot tell you how difficult it is to get CORRECT treatmentif you live outside the U.S. First off, I couldnt get a "real" examination until I got married... because my mom was afraid the physical examination would jeopardize my "proof" of being a virgin (and anyone who is married to an Arab knows....but let's not get started with that drama!) Two weeks after getting married I had an extremely painful and long period. I was bleeding profusely and I was afraid I would faint from losing so much blood. At the time I was living in Egypt, so I went to the only female OB/GYN I knew. She shook her head, did an internal ultrasound, and started shaking her head even harder. She scared the crap out of me, then as I was getting dressed she told me I would never have kids. Well, I went to a male OB?GYN and he ran many tests for me and told me not to worry, that my PCOS was "mild". He didnt give me any kind of treatment except for Duphaston. He told me to take it and that I would come back to him pregnant... Well the duphaston worked, but not for PCOS!!! The doctor only gave me Metformin while I was pregnant, for fear I might get diabetes while pregnant. Ok, enough rambling! So, you do have a fellow Arab/Middle Eastern cysta around if you need to talk! Take care.
Hey I am a Palestinian-American 20yo with PCOS. Was diagnosed last year and started Metformin, but I was being stupid and did not take it consistently.

Hello ladies! I am a 23 yo Iranian. I'm still pending diagnosis but most of my bloodwork has come back abnormal so I'm not wasting any time getting any info. It was hard at first to recognize some of the signs (hair growth and darker skin in some areas) because when you are middle eastern you have more hair than usual and darker skin than others and sometimes things so unnoticed.
