I'm so, so sorry about your loss. Thank you for putting together the video and getting the word out about these tragedies.
If you don't mind me asking, did your baby die during the labor process, or had he already passed before you went in to have him? Was his cord compressed or was it around his neck? Or something else?

I wa supposed to be induced the night he died but the hospital didnt have room for me so I stayed at home. When he was born the cord was wrapped one time around his neck so tight that during the birth process they couldnt even see the cord.

I am so sorry for your loss. This is what I imagine the worst pain in the world to be and I dont know how strong I would be i your situation.
I hve to ask though...based on your video...do you feel that there is something that you could have done to prevent this from happening? Even if you do kick counts, and wake in the middle of the night. to count..there really is no prewarning sign is there? once the baby stops kicking and the baby has passed its too late, or am i missing something?
I do truly hope that you dont feel that it was your fault by any means. I know for me personally, that would be a huge burden to bear and i dont think you should be bearing it. The same thing happened to my coworkers grandson, they were given 2 dates to choose induction and chose the later one just for scheduling purposes and the baby died in between the dates. I can only imagine thinking about, if i had only chose the earlier date. Again, I think it is one of the hardest things someone, esp a mother, will ever go through. I wish you luck in TTC #2.

I believe from what I have read, that any sudden changes in kicking patterns (a big decrease OR a big increase) can be a warning sign that the baby is in distress, and hopefully if women are aware of this they will seek emergency care and be able to deliver before it is too late. I think the point is that women need to be aware and seek medical attention as soon as they notice a change.

So I'm a little confused. If my baby starts jumping around more often i should rush over to L & D?? My doctor already thinks I'm crazy.

If it is an unusual increase in your babies movement, then yes it can be a sign of distress. If your baby is always active after you drink something, or eat , etc. then that is normal. But, if there is a sudden change in activity, yes it would warrant a trip to the doctor or ER.
IMO, it is always better safe than sorry.

jakesangel - im sorry to be asking all these questions but i believe your intention is to prevent it from happening to others so i hope you dont mind.
both of my pgs have been this way. they will be extremely active at one point, moderatly active at another, and completely still others. i honestly believe that if i went by the kick count rules...10 movements in 2 hours....i would be rushing to the dr everydy. there are def times each day when she doesnt move a all. thank goodness that as i watched this video and thinking about little trevor she has kept moderatly active. but there is no way i could be calling the dr. everyday. I guess im just not sure what I can do? I always thought that this is just one of those things you cant prevent and hopefully it doesnt happen to you.
Did you other preggies not feel the same way, about your babies being completely motionless sometimes?
