Default pls help hoping 2 adopt frm CO live in TX

Hi everyone i'm new to the adoption site and have some questions. I've read through alot of the threads and found some similar to my situation, but still need answers. My brother just recently moved to CO with his girlfriend in the last 6 mos and I just found out about a month ago that they are expecting a baby(in May I might add). They have decided to give the baby up for adoption and of course we would love to adopt the baby. My question is that I have contacted an attorney here in TX who said I would need her and an attorney in CO. After doing research online I've read that CO adoptions must go through an agency and not through a lawyer. So I called an attorney in CO who advised the same and said that she works with an agency in CO and can handle everything from CO and after the baby is born if all goes well we would have to stay there for about 12-14 days before we could leave the state with the baby. Do you think i really need an attorney here or just use the agency in CO? I should probably add that I have already paid the lawyer here because she said she would handle pretty much everything but now after speaking with the lawyer in CO i feel so confused and scared that I won't be able to get my money back from this attorney if I don't need her afterall. I feel so naive. I would appreciate all opinions and insight into this. Thanks in advance.

I would ask the attorney in CO if you need the attorney in TX. Or simply ask the attorney in TX to give you valid reasons why you need her services.

I'm gonna stop looking back and starting moving on
And learn how to face my fears
Love with all of my heart, make my mark
I wanna leave something here
Go out on a ledge, without any net
That's what I'm gonna be about
Yeah, I wanna be running

I agree with Tina about calling the TX attorney and telling her what you found out and ask her what services would she provide since it seems like the CO attorney and agency will be handling things. Then if it looks like she won't be providing any assistance ask her for a refund. Who's doing your finalization?
