Unhappy plucking, scars, hyperpigmentation etc etc etc

Hiya,

i found this site about few weeks ago and this is my first post...Firstly, i can't tell you how wonderful it is to *meet* you all. But its also scary fro the point of view that i keep thinking this is something i can fight till its gone but maybe i'm just going to have to manage it..

ok, that aside, I've been diagnosed for about 10 yrs and my main problems are excess hair and very heavy periods and hair loss on my scalp...

they put me on dianette (diane 35) and i took it for a few years. i noticed the hair start to thin out a little and more so when i lost weight. Then i came to the states and went to see a doc about it here...they told me to stop taking the pill and put me on metformin...well the five years or so that it took for the hair to decrease all went to pot as within a month it was back with avengance...i came off the metformin and started taking dianette again! BUT, when all the hairs came back, i got so desperate that i started plucking them out and now i have really unsightly hyperpigmentation on my chin and neck...its disgusting and its makes me feel more and more like a freak every day.

I'm 170lbs and my goal is 130lbs and i'm hoping that slows down the hair growth etc too. I've been reading as much as i can about hyperpigmentation and scars etc ans trying to find a way to fix it and some say peels and laser resurfacing etc and other say they will fade with weight loss and when the hormonal condition diminishes....

does anyone have any experience with this or know anywhere i might turn to for help? I'm thinking weraing polo necks for the rest of my life aint gonna cut it...

many many many thanks....

Here in Australia we have chemical peels like masks that peel away the dead, unsighlty top layer of the skin. This is used for people with scars and ance, I'm not sure if it'll help you, but it might be worth a try.
