 Plum Flower Brand Supplements? Peony & Licorice Dosage?
I've decided to give white peony a try, along with diet/lifestyle modifications.
I recently went hunting at a local (Portland, OR) Chinese herbal store, and what an amazing place that was!
Anyway, I went there to see if I could find some white peony. I found two options, the first was the white peony root in bulk. I bought a bag for 4 dollars. But I need to learn how to prepare that.
They also had a shelf full of Plum Flower Brand supplements. I found a bottle of White Peony and Licorice Teapills. 200 in a bottle. Cost - $9. My understanding of teapills is not that you take them as a tea, but rather that refers to how it's manufactured. Correct me if I'm wrong. So the dosage directions on the bottle say take 8 pills 3 times daily. 24 pills a day!!!! Not only does that seem excessive, and just plain silly, it also means that a 200 pill bottle will last only a week!
I looked at another supplement by the same brand, and it said the same thing. Unfortunately, the bottle doesn't list the exact amounts of peony/licorice in each pill, so I can't calculate for myself.
Does anyone else have any experience or info about this brand? Or if you know how to prepare the peony root, that would be great info too!
