I am going on a beach vacation in two weeks and I have purchased some bikinis for my vacation. I tried on about a million one-piece suits but they all made my look like a boy (flat-chest). So I went with the bikinis because you can get them with the wonderbra. Well...now I'm really worried that people are going to look at me because I have all this "overhang" on the bottom. The top looks great, but the bottom...ugh... Am I breaking some kind of rule by showing all my fat/stretch marks? I'm really worried about being the only plus size in a little bikini

I personally would not be able to do it, there are people out there who are very judgmental and people just tend to be rude alot of the time expecially when they see something different than themselves. If you are comfortable with yourself in the bikini than go for it, but dont be suprised if people talk about you for it,that usually means that they dont have anything better to do anyway... only you know how you feel and what you can take from the cruelty of ignorant people. If you dont care ,then why care if anyone else does either!! Be proud! But be ready too.
More power to you in doing what makes you feel good.
If you're not sure about the bottoms try getting a pair of short board shorts that match. That's the route I have to go... more because my pale, pale skin than any concern over weight.
But I say wear what makes you feel comfortable... Good luck and have fun!!!

I think i would maybe go with the top but but one of those skirts or wraps for the bottom for more coverage because all that matters in the end is that you are comfortable and this could make you a little less self concious.

You see people all shapes & sizes on beaches, not just 'skinny minnies'. I think you should go for it!
If people are judgemental about it, their thoughts are not worth worrying about. I don't think it's worth going through life worrying what others think, ESPECIALLY on holidays. I learnt that the very hard way and am not just saying that because I find it easy, sometimes it isn't easy but if you learn to feel good about yourself, I think life is so much happier

If you're able to wear a bikini and not feel bad then you deserve a trophy.
I'm already nervous and self-conscious and I'm not even there yet... The truth is, I bought these swim suits when I was expecting to be 7 months pregnant, so a bikini was the only thing that I knew I could wear because I had no idea how big I would be. Well, I lost the baby, but not the weight. And now I have 5 brand new swimming suits (that weren't cheap) but when I tried them on yesterday I cried. I was supposed to be a healthy pregnant woman in a bikini, but now I'm just going to be the fat girl in a bikini. I guess I'm just having a hard time getting over that.
Now my only option is to put on a shirt over my body because there is nowhere right now to shop for bathing suits. I'm going to hit Goody's tomorrow and pray I can find a cover-up.

Before I got married a few years ago (we got married in Jamaica), I went on Ebay and got an amazing "miraclesuit" swimsuit for steal!!!!
It instantly made me look 20 lbs lighter and boy did I feel like a hottie. I also got a couple different type of bikinis. I got the tankini (i think that's what it's called) it's a tank/cami top and cute bottom. I also got another similiar with a bottom that looked like a skirt.
I honestly didn't hear one snide comment the whole time I was on vacation, and in a swim suit probably 8 hours a day, and if they did say something..who cares? I don't know them, I don't care about them. My DH thinks I am beautiful and that's all that I need. Besides I don't think I'm so bad either..lol..even though I am still working on that stupid weight loss thing....lol! For all my self esteem issues, some how being hot has never been one of them.

Aw man, I JUST gave away two sarongs I got when I was in Central America a few years ago... they're beautiful, and can be tied in such an array of pretty ways, to cover a multitude of sins. I would have saved them for you, had I known.
