Default PMS symptoms but no period

I haven't had my period in a while...only once this year, but from time to time I had all the usual PMS symptoms that I have before my periods..but I just wouldnt get it.

Did anyone have similar experiences?I mean it's not normal, there is no logic that at one point my body is signalising me that I'm in a pre-mentrual period and then the next day it all disappears? If I don't have periods, I shouldn't have PMS.

Even when I'm on the pill and i skip a period I get PMS. I guess its because hormones are still in a cycle, just not to the point that you've got anything to show for it unfortunately!

how can you skip a period if you're on the pill? isn't it supposed to regulate your periods?

i'm kinda new to this since i've never been on any birth control pills..so don't mind my uninformed questions

You (usually) have 3 weeks of 'active' pills and 1 week of 'inactive' pills. The inactive pills are generally just sugar or fillers - but keeps you on track as to when to start the active pills again. This is the week you usually get AF.
If you skip the inactive pills and just carry on with the next set of active pills then you don't get a period. For a while there I couldn't find a painkiller to help me with period pain and the docs couldn't find the cause so I was only getting a period every 2 months - but i still had the bloatedness, grumpyness and minor cramps the few days leading up to when I would have started my period had I not skipped the pills.
