I crave the sweet stuff, what can I say? And while I was torturing myself thinking of the deliciousness that is a soft and chewy warm chocolate chip cookie, I decided instead to write about all that I love and why I have to stay away from it. Writing it all down made me feel like I had a tummy ache! lol

I think I'm gonna bake some cookies
Maybe make some fudge
Gonna make some buckeye candies
We'll be eating too much
I think I'll make a cake
With some pink vanilla icing
I will sprinkle my creations
Serve ice cream treats for slicing
We can go to outer space
With snack mix in hand
Where we will sun bathe on the moon
And share with little martian men
Gotta get home before it gets too late
We have to watch tv
Flip on some food network
And watch some Good Eats
Tomorrow we'll be busy
There is more concocting to be had
The treats that we'll be munching
Will be sure to keep you glad.


for anyone wondering, a buckeye candy is a powdered-sugar-peanut butter mixture covered in chocolate and it resembles a buckeye nut. Growing up in Ohio, these snacks were very popular.

I loved your poem! I giggled about sharing with the little martian men!

I adore cakes and other treats, but especially cookies, and they are probably 98% of the reason that I'm overweight. I just can't stay away from them. I can never eat just one. I am a bottomless pit when it comes to consuming cookies.

When I was a kid, we didn't have a cookie jar, we had a whole cookie drawer in the kitchen and it was big and deep. My mom kept about 5 or 6 different kinds of cookies in there and we just helped ourselves all day. Man, and I wonder why I crave 'em all the time? They are a dangerous "comfort food" for me.

But, I sure enjoyed your fun poem!
