Miscarriage 1/10/07 ( no fetal pole developed D&C done @9wks)
Miscarriage 3/20/08 ( very slow development D&C done @10 wks)

BFP 07/22/08!!!!! (unexpected per dh had high fever during o time)

10/22/08 ultrasound at 16wks4days says more than likely a GIRL!!!!

I wrote this today, and I don't know if it's very good or not, but I liked it so I wanted to share it with you ladies.

In my heart

I never met you in the flesh
but you were always there in my heart
I felt your little flutter-bye winged caresses
as the nurse told me that unfortunately
we had lost you.

But you were never lost
you were where you belonged all along
in my heart
and I hugged myself believing that one day
you'd come back to me
even though I knew it'd be the other way around

And I imagined a field of daisies
washing away the pain of infertility
and seeds growing up
as flowers obscured the pain
of pregnancy loss

I dreamed of you tonight
curled in oblivion
playing with your hair as you slept
as the light kissed you as
I wished I could

Softly crying through each night
I think of you
and what should have been
and what couldn't be.
Sleep on angel,
sleep on treasure,
until I can meet you
again some day.

As you can see from my sig, I have not experienced the loss of my own child. But in July 2007 I was visiting my sister and accompanied her to a routine midwife check up at 17 weeks. There we discovered her son had died. I stayed with her family for 7 days to help. Upon delivering their baby, who they chose to name Star, it was discovered that he had died due to his umbilical cord being twice around his neck. Next month, 14th July, will be his first 'birthday'. Some words I found which seemed to help my sister slightly were;


Grief cannot be dry-cleaned, it must be washed with tears.


My heart goes out to anyone who has suffered the loss of a child.
