Hey everyone. I thought it would be interesting to find out what everyone's thyroid levels are/were. My TSH was 2.09 and my T4 was 1.1. There were were no thyroid antibodies present. However, even with a TSH lab of 2.09 (normal is between 0.5 and 4.5), my doctor wanted me to start thyroid meds. What were your labs?
My TSH was 7.5 when I was diagnosed, Synthroid brought it down to 1.8 but as I mentioned in a previous post I didn't feel it was helping and my hair was falling out so my doctor agreed I could stop it to see how I feel. He said I did not test positive for antibodies so my case of Hypothyroid could be a curable type (he said it is called Thyroiditis) that goes away after a short course of Synthyroid. I'm having my TSH checked again next month so we'll see.

My TSH was over 100 when I was diagnosed...insane I know. I don't even know how I was functioning then, especially now that I know what normal is! When I have to go off my meds for the whole body scan (for thyroid cancer) my TSH usually gets over 50 within 10 days. I am now supressed at less than 0.01.

My last test results (done in October- in june i had my thyroid removed), i actually posted here, with my TSH was 39. Before that my levels were always around 3 or 4.
This last time they upped my meds over the summer my TSH was in the 50's. Which incidentally after I had my 5th child and stopped nursing. The last time it got high was after I stopped nursing my 4th child. My TSH was in the hundreds then. I think that the hormone shift had something to do with it but the dr's say just a coincidence. Hmm... What do I know it's just my body. I don't know what it was when I was Dx'd in 2002.

My TSH was 7.05 -- can't remember what my T4 was. The doc's office is supposed to be making me a copy of the lab results for my own records, so I'll know soon.

TSH = Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, it's what your pituitary gland releases to tell your thyroid to produce more Thryoid hormone T3 & T4 are collectively called Thyroid hormone, what your thyroid releases. T3 is fast acting and T4 is slower. TRH = TSH Releasing Hormone, your hypothalamus releases this to tell you pituitary how much TSH to send to the thyroid. Free T4 is the amount of T4 in your blood stream, this can be a good indicator of how much T4 your thyroid really is producing.
Hope this helps!

My labs were taken two weeks ago and my TSH was 7.34. Six months ago it was about 5. I can't remember what my T4 was, but the doctor said it was "normal". I was prescribed thyroid meds (Thyroxin 25 microg.). New labs will be taken in January because the doctor wanted to see if the dosage is right.
