Default In Vitro and PCOS

Hey everyone! my doctor said that if you are trying to conceive the best way is IVF. It is the most expensive option, but if nothing else seems to be working this will work.
Alot of fertility clinics offer a package deals these days. You pay about $20,000 for three IVF cycles. If none are successful, then you get 90% of the $20,000 back. If you are successful on the first try, then you dont get to use the other two. The package is more or less a gaurantee that you will get pregnant or get your money back.

I did it and am now 27 weeks pregnant with a baby boy. I spent years feeling the pain of knowing that I would never be a natural mother and enduring the stress of wondering if I would ever be able to adopt. Now I am confident that I can do both!

Hello, I have PCOS and have conceived twice without any medications. I took 4 rounds of Clomid with no results, took metformin for a short period of time with nasty side effects and no results. Stopped all medications and just let nature take its course. I got pregnant twice in one year the first one ended with m/c at 5 wks and 4 days. I am currently 11 weeks pregnant now (so far so good). I know that this is not typical results but just letting you ladies know that it is possible. I was told that it would virtually impossible for me to get pregnant without fertility meds but who really knows in the end?Praise GOD!!!!

Wow, this thread is really encouraging, as far as the prices go on the meds...I thought the price would be out of reach for me.

My husband and I conceived our first child with clomid on the first try so we are getting ready to to try again here in a couple of weeks. We were military so we never had to pay for our meds so I am glad walmart will sell it for a cheaper cost.

Wink Congrats OOHfie

Hi and congrats, so happy for you!
I am also only on Met, (and folic acid and I am trying cinnamon as of this week). How many times did you do CLomid? How long did you try Met before trying Clomid? I know you said this baby was not a clomid baby, but I am about your age and curious how long it took...
dr. wants to put me on bcp for 2 months, but I am hesitant to do that without giving met a bit more time...thanks for any advice you can offer!
