Default Positive Progress!

Today I had my 1 month follow up with my Endo.... I have lost 5lbs in the last month, my AF is back to normal, energy levels are higher and hirsutism has improved on my face.

Never underestimate your Glucose Metabolism, it has impact on everything in your body (hormones, mood, weight, sugar levels, energy etc). I love this Doc, he is an awesome Endo and has helped me a great deal with PCOS.

Very glad I can see come positive changes finally! Just wanted to share my progress with you ladies.

just fyi i am on Met+Actos+Spironolactone+Yaz since begining of May.

Hi -

I just started Met too. I'd like to know about Actos, Spiro and Yaz as well.

My doctor just put me on Met because of my weight. I had been doing custom Progersterone cream for 4 years which gave me regular cycles. But in that time I've gained 70 pounds!

Thanks!

Thank you for the kind words cysters

The Actos is suppose to aid the effect of Met and regulate our glucose metabolism. The Spironolactone is helping to lower the Testosterone Levels, here is a more info on the drug:

Quote:
Spironolactone is also used to counteract the effects of excessive adrenal aldosterone production.
http://www.medicinenet.com/spironolactone/article.htm
The Yaz is just a birth control pill, a low dose of Yasmin and it also has anti-aldosterone effects. So again helping the Hirsutism by not prodcuing Testosterone or I guess lowering it.

I dont know which one of these really helped me get my AF, but i have a feeling it is the Metformin as I took it a month before i started the rest.

My main problems were face hair, light to no AF and started gaining weight
I gained 35lbs in a matter of few months. I also have multiple cysts on both ovaries.
Now i at least got my regular AF, my face hair has decreased by more than half (what a releif) and i have been dropping the pounds. Go to the gym at least 3-4 days a week and try to eat low-carb.

I feel so much better, I think it has made a great change in my mood and happiness.

Very Cool!

When I go back to the doctor in a month, I will ask about Actos & Spiro.

I'm very happy for you! It's good to read successes. It gives me hope!

Default Yay!

I am so happy for you. I love Metformin. I have been on it for over three years. It has helped everything, except the hair loss. I just feel "right" when I'm taking it. My body is finally working the way it should.
