First a bit of background my wife has been on metformin for about 10 months now, we're currently on honeymoon! She missed her period by a few days (due round about 17th of last month( plus her breasts had been sore, so a week or so after being on holiday she decided to take a pregnancy test but it came back negative. But here's the but she thinks she might not of waited long enough or something, plus the line wasn't complete.
So a few days ago she decided to take another test and low and behold it was positive, which was a bit of a surprise! Now we still in a bit of disbelief because we thought it was her PCOS symptoms resurfacing the first time coming off of the pill, as she's been suffering from bad acne around her mouth and chin, and recently she discovered some small hairs on her chest which upset her.
I think we're still in disbelief really as her breasts have been less sore for a couple of days so she's wondering if she really is pregnant or not. I guess I'm trying to see if it's possible to have normal PCOS symptoms like acne, dark hair etc. and be pregnant? Could it be the pregnancy that caused these symptoms? Oh so many questions.
Congrats on the BFP..as for the other question..I am not sure, have not been pregnant while PCOS

Yes that is totally normal! Progesterone is a heck of a hormone, and kind of ramps up oil and hair production. I had clear skin before I conceived, and now suffer with acne on my chin, cheeks, hairline and chest. Hair growth is totally normal as well, and actually later on in the pregnancy her hair may get longer, thicker and grow at rates you wouldn't believe. The same goes for fingernails.
Also, pregnancy hormones fluctuate daily, so some days she may feel the full force of them raging through her, and other days she may not even feel pregnant at all. It's all normal so try to relax and enjoy this time!
PS: I'd also recommend you get yourself a good pregnancy book so you know what to expect - these next 9 months are quite hectic, but very exciting To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

As you can see from the many many Positive Pregnancy tests on this board it is very possible to be dealing with PCOS symptoms such as hair growth, acne, long cycles, and still get pregnant and carry that through a happy and healthy 9 months. At this point she should call her doctor and get a blood test done to test for her HCG (pregnancy hormone level) they will probably do more then one to make sure it is rising normally. They will also probably check her progesterone to make sure it is a good level. It sounds like you guys are just starting a wonderful 9 months of life with many many years of excitement ahead!
Congratulations!

Congratulations to you both! I have always had acne as a result of PCOS, but when I was pregnant with DD, I had acne like I had never experienced before until I was about 1/2 way through my pregnancy.
Thanks all, we´re not back home until the start of next week, the the doctors will have to wait a while longer. Not sure how far a long it will be, her previous two times of the month were a week later than usual and lasted a whole week, where as she says it usually only lasts a few days.
