i read linda aka nobimbo;s old post..why the scale lies andi thought it was great...ty by the way....but is it possible to gain back 3 pounds in one week when you have been eating better and actually regularly walking again??? last week i lost 6 pounds for the monday weigh in and the past two mornings shows a 3 pound gain,,and i am sooo not even pms!!!!!!!!!!!!
i usally attribute a bit of a gain to water weight or pms..but i have been drinking water like a camel in the saraha, and not pms... and not lifting weights so it cant be muscle gain.... any idea what gives??? i thought i defeated the evil early weigh in lure of the scale yesterday,,but apparently not xoxo jenn

are you sure it couldnt be muscle??? if you are 'just' working out, you will still be gaining muscle. thats just my gut thought when i read your post. i really cant think of anything else.
I went through this a few times while I was dieting. I would be really good and step on the scale and show a 2 to 3 pound weight gain. I think this is part of the reason it is suggested that people dont weigh themselves everyday although I did and still continue to do so. It really brought me down the first few times but I usually found that come Monday (which was/is my weigh in day) my weight continued to drop. Good luck!
I read once that when your fat cells release their fat, the cells take in water to sort of "take its place", hoping to be replaced with more fat. It may take a few days before your body finally believes that the fat that was released is gone for good, and then releases the water. One way to avoid this is to drink LOTS of water. I know that sounds counterintuitive, but the more water you drink, the more your body releases.
Something that I've noticed when the scale is up a couple of pounds even though I've been great with my eating and exercising is a nice whoosh a day or two later. I've learned its a signal that I've actually lost some fat. Hang in there, Jenn, and stay off the damn scale!!!

damn scale is right!!! seriously if i drink more fluids i will float away...maybe my tissue is holding water.... bc even though i am not lifting weights and gaining muscle... going for walks uses my muscles that have been so sedentary so maybe they are holding water?? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr damn scale lolol xoxo jenn

i do not own a scale and that keeps me from falling prey to it, then when I go to the dr or take my daughter for her weekly allergy shots I step on theirs which is more accurate than one at home anyway!
