Default Possible contraindication for Levoxyl and Spiro?

3 months ago I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and put on 50 mcg. of Levoxyl, and my endo also put me on Spironolactone (50 mg twice a day) for my thinning hair, which is what I initially went to see him for. I also have PCOS. Since I've been on the meds, my hair loss has slowed down considerably but my periods began to happen every two weeks. Since mid-June, I have been bleeding. I called my endo and he had me come in and get my blood drawn for testing and my thyroid levels were fine, he said. He advised seeing a gyno about the bleeding. So, I went today and she immediately said the two meds weren't good together. Why would my endo have prescribed them together? He is very reputable and I trust him, but he didn't have an answer for me when I asked why I had been bleeding for a month.

My gyno wants me to stop the Spiro. She did an endometrial biopsy today and following the results of that, she wants to put me on either BCP or the Murena IUD which she says will correct my hormonal imbalance.

Anyone have any comments on this? Has anyone heard that the combination of levothyroxine and spiro causes irregular bleeding?
