Default possible first time ovulation?

I am almost 30 and was diagnosed with PCOS two years ago. I had just stopped taking the pill and was starting to have weird side effects (irregular periods, hair loss, and savage mood swings) when my GYN suggested I see an Endo doc. So I was diagnosed but I pretty much ignored it. I'm not the typical PCOS woman (I am tall and slender and not diabetic) but I do have hirtuism. Anyhow, my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant and finally six months ago I got put on Metformin. For the past three months I've had regular periods, but something strange is happening. I started my last period about three weeks ago and now I am having dull but persistant abdominal pain in the lower left quadrant. I always have a discharge but today it was clear and stringy like snot, which freaked me out. I've never had a discharge like that before. I called my bff and she told me that I was probably having my first ever ovulation and that the abd pain and discharge was normal during ovulation. She's no doctor and she doesn't have PCOS, but she knows all about my troubles. This just doesn't seem right to me. Could I have possibly went 30 years and never ovulated, or could something be wrong with me? I noticed the abd pain yesterday and it hasn't let up. I also have been nauseous (but no vomiting) and light headed.

Cervical mucous is totally normal but not all women with PCOS produce enough, it depends on your individual make-up and symptoms. I don't believe that a lack of CM means that you've never ovulated, I would just take it that your system is changing in relation to that changes that you are making to your health.

CM may seem gross at first but it's actually very handy when you're looking to get PG. CM stores sperm sometimes for more than 24hrs after intercourse meaning that you have a greater chance of becoming PG.

I'm PG with #3 now but it took me the better part of a year of trying to conceive my 1st, it's not unusual for it to take this long. I'm also a thin cyster and I am not diabetic either.

Good luck,

Paula
