Yep, my immune system is crap, always has been. Also, and this is probably related to insulin resistance because most diabetics have the same problem, any cuts or spots take ages to heal.

Hello

Me too!! I get just about every cough or cold around these days.

My dh has just got the shingles - and my 4 year old has lots of chicken pox in his schoolclass. So, here's hoping I don't get those, too ......

Funnily enough, before I was diagnosed with and underactive thyroid and pcos I always picked up throat infenctions and was always really run down.

Since I've been treated for the thyroid problem I don't get half as ill, I'm not half as tired (apart frombeing 32 weeks pregnant!) and I'm not half as bloated.

I honestly think that the thyroid trouble gave me more grief than I gave it credit for. The symptoms are so similar to PCOS is hard to know what's causing what.

I'd get your thyroid checked because a lot of people with PCOS also have hypothyroidism....just a suggestion.

hope you get sorted soon!

Andrea.

I also had the same problem untill i started taking medication for underactive thyroid(as someone else mentioned). It may be worth getting this checked,if you havent already.
Best wishes
Karen

I thought it was just me being unlucky. I get everything going, and at the moment I have shingles. It's a real problem at work, they just dont understand pcos, especially since 'Posh' said she USED to have it! My manager even took me aside one day to say she thought I shouldnt be ill so often and was my doctor any good! I just wish that more people understood the probs we have. Thank God I have discovered this website!
Whinge over now.

I also get everything going, since 99 i have been tired and ill nearly all the time last year i had over 35 days off work! Granted 25 were dut to vertigo but still anything going i get! I had problems with my boss nad was given a warning even though i explained what i have and how i don't intentionally go and stand next to the nearest ill person! I have found that plenty of sleep and also evening primrose oil, vitamin tablets and plenty of me time (not always possible i know) have helped! so far this year i have only had 6 days off! Am doing well i think!

By the way i get the feeling that there is a slight irratation over the whole 'posh' i have pcos but now i am fine thing! Am i right?

hello.

funnily enoght we were talking about this on the chatroom last night, and one of the sisters swears by a herbalist remedy called oscillococcinum. the company producing them is called boiron.

its a capsule that you put under your tongue and let disolve when you start to feel unwell, and by the next morning you are feeling better.

if anyone want more info i can try and find local stockists, but herbal stores should be able to get it for you.
