I work for disability determinations and endocrine disorders that affect sex hormones are not considered disabling by the Social Security Administration. Depression and other mental disorders are considered disabling, but you have to show that you are too incapacitated to perform ANY TYPE OF JOB in the national economy, not just the job that you have always done. You also have to show that your disabling symptoms have lasted or will last 12 months or longer or will result in death. We also consider the severity of pain, but if everyone who ever experienced pain was on disability, we'd all be getting benefits. Being found disabled also depends on your age, education and past work that you have done. Younger adults tend to be denied more often than older adults because they can more readily transfer their job skills from one job to another. Basically, if you are younger than 50, you have to be pretty bad off to get benefits. If you feel that your depression and anxiety incapacitate you to a severe extent, you have every right to go to your local SSA office to apply. They HAVE to take your application. BTW, I have all the same symptoms you described and there are plenty of days when I wish I was getting benefits instead of making the decision on someone else.
