Is it possible to NOT have my avatar appear on a post?

I see where I can turn off my .siggie, but that's not the problem.

(The issue being, for example, when I post on the pg loss thread I would prefer not to have my avatar [photo of dd] showing out of respect for people's losses.)

Any help appreciated. I checked the avatar sticky thread but that seemed to be all about how to make it appear!

Unfortunately, no, there's no way to turn off avatars.

Some time back, I think there was a poll asking members if they wanted all sigs turned off in the pregnancy loss forum, for sort of the same reasons as your avatar, but the overwhelming consensus was to keep sigs...

I'm sure the women in that forum, however, appreciate your concern...

Thanks for the very quick response.

I know when I was more sensitive on the topic (loss) I turned off auto-load so I didn't have to see all the baby pictures in the siggies.... avatars didn't bother me so much... but I did want to be sensitive if I could be.

By the way.... THANK YOU for the awesome boards. You seem to be everywhere and always with great info.
