Had an u/s today at 6 weeks and my RE said the egg sac is misshapen and definitely doesn't look like what he'd like to see at 6 weeks. We scheduled another u/s for next Monday to see if there are any changes, but he is not optimistic. He said there's only a 5% chance that I will carry this baby to term. DH is taking this very hard...we just lost a baby at 11 weeks in July and were so excited.

Has anyone else had a "misshapen" egg sac and delivered a healthy baby? Is it possible we just are not as far along as we thought? I don't want to get my hopes up because that will just make it hurt worse, but hubby is in such a bad way right now that I'd love to give him some encouragement...

I'm somewhat in the same boat as you. I went in for ultrasound yesterday and no heartbeat. I hope you get good news and you have a happy and healthy 9 months.

It's a miracle - we did hear a heartbeat at the second u/s!!! The egg sac had rounded out and there is a definite yolk sac there, too!
