Just wonderring if anyone can tell me what to expect for our first post placement visit? January 20 will mark the 3 month anniversary of the day we brought Sam home, and the social worker is coming on the 18th to do our first post placement. I know that we have to have pictures and she wants to see his room, but what kind of questions do they ask, is it like a homestudy interview?

wow, has it already been 3 months????
At our visit, she was asking questions about how we felt the whole adoption had gone, and wanted to know if we had any regrets, or felt we had made a mistake. It was a breeze. you will be fine.
Congratulations on your BEAUTIFUL son. I have 2 children adopted from Guatemala. They are preschoolers now, so I will have to think back to post placement......
You have nothing to worry about. It was very similar to the home study. The SW will need the pictures and to see the room, but they really are just wanting to watch you interract with your son. Good luck. Relax and be yourself, and before you know it you will find yourself in my position of having to think back to when the post placement visit happened.

Ours was the same as the previous ladies mentioned. Very easy and actually quite fun! We got to talk about the trip, show pictures, etc...And showing Sam off will be an extra bonus too!
Best of luck...but know it's even easier than the homestudy!

We just had our first post placement visit and it was a snap... it was like catching up with an old friend as we really get along well with our social worker. We chatted about Alex, showed her his room and enjoyed some coffee and cookies. No biggie...
Good luck... relax and enjoy!
