Points: 711.89 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 711.89 | I started taking glucophage May 4th and it's killing me! I have the bubble guts all day long....my stomach sounds like a car back firing at times. My PreK students look @ me like "what's really going on?" I feel dizzy and the urge to barf around the same time every single day. I take comfort in knowing that I'm not the only one.
Thanx Ladies! |

My Mood: Points: 854.84 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 854.84 | The nausea has for the most part disappeared, but this freaking diarrhea has got to go! This is the fourth day and I am tired of going to the bathroom every 10-15 minutes! My stomach rolls and growls all the blessed time. I never get anything done at work because I am always in the bathroom. I think I am going to see if I can move my desk to the restroom! I have watched my carbs and sugar intake, and drink plenty of water (like always) but nothing works! Any suggestions!?

It does get better I can promise you that! Some of the ladies recommended peppermint tea to soothe your tummy. If you can try to take your last pill before bed so you sleep through some of the side effects. It will get better it takes your body some time to get used to it.

I'm starting to take Met tomorrow. My Dr suggested 500mg a day and then work my way up as I adjusted to the meds. Do you think it's a good idea to split the pill and take 250mg during lunch and 250mg during dinner?
And thank you all for sharing your stories, even though it makes me a bit scared of starting haha I am excited though in a strange way and hoping that Met will work for me.
Have a wonderful weekend!

I just split the pill in half and took my first dose.. just thinking about the side effects are making me nauseous since I actually felt nauseous right before taking it! I am going to take 250mg 2x a day because I already have a sensitive stomach as it is, but I will work my way up to a whole entire pill soon enough. (btw, how long does a dose last for?)
Here's me hoping that I don't spend the day in the bathroom! ^_-
Have a wonderful day ladies!

Hi Daisy. My doc started me on 500mg a day for the first week and then bumped me up to 1000mg a day. I usually take one pill with breakfast and then the other with dinner.

When you were on the 500mg dose, when did you take it? I am feeling ok but definitely feeling like my energy has decreased. I hope I get over this feeling so I can exercise at the same intensity I am used too soon!
Thank you for your reply. Hope everything is going well with you!
Regards,
Daisy

My Mood: Points: 917.78 Bank: 13,762.31 Total Points: 14,680.09 | My first week that I was on the 500mg/day I split the pill in half and took one half with breakfast and the other half with dinner. Same thing I am doing now with the full dosage. That way, by the end of the day, I wasn't feeling completely rundown. Hope that helps hun.

I increased by 250 yesterday so trying to get up to 1500mg in 2 weeks time... I didnt eat any bread today (I only ever eat wholemeal brown) but I think this has made a difference and I feel a little better then yesterday!
