Oh yah, I never thought about it being the met though! I was looking at them this morning thinking wow this is the longest they have been in a really long time.....They finally look decent.

I've noticed that too. I don't necessarily think it's the Met though. Since I've been on it I've been eating better and taking my vitamins. I think that's what's feuling my fingernails.

Oh, Wow! I noticed that my nails are growing faster and seem thicker, but never connected it with Met. That's great! I used to have thin, brittle nails that broke very easily.

I wonder if it is connected with met! I haven't had any other changes in medicine, and I've been on met for almost a year now. I've been thinking lately how I have to cut my nails so much more than I used to! I like my nails short and well-kept, so I trim them about every 3 days. I used to only do it every 5-7. Met does all sorts of things!
Now I don't know if it's that they grow but since my braces I can't bite them, but I do notice that they are ALOT stronger though.

My nails are much longer and stronger than they have ever been before.
I'm also in a better mood (I think) conistently, suddenly have an appreciation for sweet things (didn't have much of a sweet tooth before), and don't like rich buttery food (not because I don't feel well when I eat it, but actually don't like the way it smells or tastes) and am no longer a fan of cocktails (I used to love both). So strange how metformin affects you! I wish I had found out about this a long time ago...
I love met! for me the good side effects completely overshadow the bad (I only have one bad symptom - the runs on some mornings when I have too much coffee after metformin!)
My nails are much better too - but I thought it was the vitamins. Interesting to hear a better mood with met - I feel much more emotional - but it could be just me and getting so crazy to have a baby. My appetite is so much less and have lost 10 pounds in 3 months and am a thin cyster to begin with, don't need to lose anymore.
Postitive Side Effect of Met
