Congratulations on the baby! I had a baby in mid April, and my hair started falling out at the end of July. It started over a few days and then escalated to epic proportions for about 10 days or so and then slowly declined over the next few weeks. I was completely back to normal by the beginning of October. If you've never had hairloss before, I would wait a couple of months and see if it doesn't taper off. It's likely just postpartum hairloss. If it keeps going or if it seems out of control, check with your doctor. Sometimes things that trigger telogen effluvium, like going off a BC or the end of a pregnancy, can uncover androgenic alopecia. I've heard doctors say that, with simple postpartum hairloss, your hair growth pattern should be back to normal by about 6 months or so after your baby is born. |
