If any of you remember in 2000 my father in law had a triple bypass. Well anyway he had another heart attack this week and was taken into the hospital on Sunday. They ran the dye in him today and they have found three blockages 1 80% (2) 70%. For right now they are going to treat him with meds and diet, but from what my mother in law told me and reading between the lines I think the doctor is thinking of bypass surgery again. PLease pray for healing for my father in law and pray for my mother in law, right now she is running quite a bit and I know she is tired right now and if he does have to have surgery please pray that he makes it through, whatever happens it is god's will and in his hands. I have said a prayer for your FIL and MIL. My grandmother had severe heart disease, it can be stressful. I pray your family will be protected and your FIL recovers soon.

I will update as soon as I know what they are going to do. He was getting out of the hospital to go home to take meds and diet today and mother in law was going to talk to the doctors to figure out where we go from there and see what the doctors plans are, but me and hubby don't think it looks good, it is to similar to what happened the first time he had his heart attack, but we are praying for healing for him.

Well right now they have him on meds and a strict diet, which he always strays from. They are hoping that the meds will help him so that he want have to have surgery. Turns out it wasn't a heart attack, but a angina attack which is very similar to a heart attack. In the meantime all we can do is wait and see if this medication works. My mil and fil are very bad about eating fried foods in oil, especially hamburgers and they don't take care of themselves very well at all, until they get a scare like this and then they do for a little while and then they go back to their old ways. Hubby is planning on having a talk to them about that on mother's day about the way they don't take care of themselves and tell them he wants them to be around for a long time so maybe they will straighten up I don't know time will tell. Anyway he goes back to see his heart doctor on May 16th and see if that medication is helping him any at all, and if not they will more than likely send him down here for the surgery. I hope your FIL gets better soon & doesn't have to go thru another by-pass, trust me i know all to well, my FIL passed away this past christmas eve, & its been a hard thing to deal with, we really miss him, you'll be in my thoughts, Diane
When he went to the doctor yesterday, they was supposed to run a stress test but rescheduled for June 6. So we will know then what they plan to do in the meantime they still have him on a strict diet and exercise and the meds for his heart. Lori
