Hello Cysters,
I have not posted in this section before, but i really need your prayers. My grandmother is losing her battle to cancer. My mother called me today and told me that we may need to start preparing ourselves for the dreaded phone call. My grandma lives in Washington state, and I live in Indiana. I only get to see her about every 3 years, and it breaks my heart that i can not be with her now. I have never lost anyone close to me and I feel like my heart is literally going to stop beating from all the saddness i feel. Please pray for my grandma. I am so glad that i know i have cysters that i can count on to share my sorrows with. God Bless.

Your Grandma and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May God bring comfort and peace into your hearts, May he keep you strong during this terrible time. I will be praying for Grandmother and all of you. (((((HUGS)))))
Is she lucid? I would call her, and tell her that you love her...maybe even if she cannot respond, if someone holds the phone to her ear, she will hear it. Tell her you love, tell her you will miss her--all of the things you would say if you were there...then you will KNOW you said those things to her....the words were said...and sometimes, more "sinks in" than we think....
I am so sorry you are having to deal with this, being so far away from her. But do what you can now, and it will actually make the grief a bit easier to bear....how many people wish that they could told their loved ones that they loved them, etc, one more time???
I will prayer for you and your grandmother. Remember to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. May God give you a peace that passes all understanding.
Thank you all so much. You have no idea how much i appreciate you thoughtful words and wisdom. I am going to take your advice and call my grandma today. I spent some time in prayer last night, kneeling before my Lord and crying my eyes out, and today I feel at peace. My heart does not feel as heavy as yesterday. Your prayers are helping tremendously.
