Just found out my sis is in the hospital. She's 17 wks pg, and having gall bladder attacks. This is her 2nd visit to the hospital in 10 days. She was sent home the first time b/c her OB didn't want them to do surgery b/c she's already high risk (b/c she's 36). But this time he said go ahead, b/c she can't live with this the next 23 weeks!
There is a small chance that she may miscarry the baby. Please keep her & her dh & ds in your prayers.
Your poor sister! I know how horrible they feel. I am recovering from gallbladder surgery. I too started having attacks while pregnant. I learned it is VERY common for women to develop gallstones during pregnancy. Avoiding fatty greasy foods helps ward attacks off. Praying your sister doesn't have anymore attacks.

Thanks for your prayers! My sis is doing fine now. She gave us a few scares - the surgery was about 1-2 hrs longer than expected b/c the gall bladder was so diseased. Then when they took her to her room, the nurse was trying to find the baby's heartbeat. She looked for about 10 minutes. Called the nurse who listened in recover to come and try b/c she should know where she heard it last. The second nurse looked for about 5-6 minutes, ANOTHER nurse came in - so now there are 3 nurses in the room, one prodding on her just cut belly! The 3 leave for a moment to decide what to do. A fourth kinda walks in for no reason - and (thank God!)found the heart beat right away! The baby had gone from up around her belly button to *very* low in her abdomen while they were wheeling her from surgery to her room!
We like to think he was "sleeping" from the drugs she had.
Anyway, other than the expected soreness she is doing fine. Should be home tomorrow or Monday.
I can't imagine having this surgery while pregnant! Be sure to give your sister some extra babying. (I am sure you will, sisters are always good at that.) Praying for a quick recovery for her.

I did while I was there - but I live 3 hours from her. I came home yesterday b/c she seemed to be doing well. My other sis & mom can handle anything she needs at this point. But before I left yesterday, my other sis & I went and cleaned pg sis's house, washed some clothes, etc. So when she goes home she won't have to worry about that!
