I have been bleeding when I go #2 for almost two weeks now. For the first few days, wasn't sure which area it was coming from....KWIM?! Then I confirmed that it was in my stool and TMI:::::: big clots came out after.
So, I've been to my doc and they did blood work and stool sample test, all of which looked ok.
They now are sending me for a Colonoscopy to see if they can see what the bleeding is from. They confirmed no adhesions, no hemmorhoids via a rectal exam.
The doc says it could be something or nothing - we'll see. I do know that Colon cancer, if caught early is very curable......I still can't help but worry. I also know it could be a pollup or something else.
I bleed every time I go # 2 and sometimes it is a little and sometimes the toilet is full of blood and clots. It is bright red in color.
So, first, has anyone else gone through anything similar?
Second, please pray that all turns out well.
I went through this about 2 years ago. I was afraid to even mention it to my physician because I didn't really know how to present it. I finally got too scared and just asked. I was scheduled for Colonoscopy and mine just turned out to be internal hemmoroids. I make sure that I drink plenty of water and get enough fiber in my diet now.
(((((((HUGS)))))))))) Try not to worry too much until you get the results back. Like the original poster said- it could just be internal hemrroids. At only 36 you'd be awfully young for colon cancer. As for the test, both my best friend and my mom had it and said it was a piece of cake. The worst part is the prep. Also, I notice that your sig says that you have endometriosis. Blood in the stool can be a symptom of this. Here's some info I found on a website about it.
"What are the symptoms?
The most common symptoms are:
Pain. Where it hurts depends on where the implants are growing. You may have pain in your lower belly, your rectum or vagina, or your lower back. You may have pain only before and during your periods or all the time. Some women have more pain during sex, when they have a bowel movement, or when their ovaries release an egg (ovulation).
Abnormal bleeding. Some women have heavy periods, spotting or bleeding between periods, bleeding after sex, or blood in their urine or stool.
Trouble getting pregnant (infertility). This is the only symptom some women have. "
Hope you feel better soon and please let us know how it goes.
Thanks so much ladies! Both of your replies make me feel better. I never even thought of Endometriosis because I haven't been having sympstoms/problems, but w/ this Mirena IUD that I have that could be masking some of the symptoms or I guess the symptoms may not be so bad this time? Before I had the Laparascopy to "scrape" the endo, I had cramps so bad I couldn't walk at times and heavy bleeding so bad that it was disgusting. It was horrible.
As your info you posted suggests, one of the symptoms I told the doc about was a sharp pain that comes and goes in my lower belly.
Again, thanks so much for the well-wishes and other options that really aren't so scary.
I get my appt date and time today.
Well, it's 3:30 am and we just fed the twins and I couldn't get back to sleep; I guess I'll go try to sleep.
Let us know how you get on next weds. I too am having the same problems, although i do have an external haemorroid i think but it has not bothered me for years.
Good luck
Michelle

Thanks so much guys! I am bleeding real bad today...sigh.....
I will surely let you all know what happens next week.
I thank you again for mentioning the could-be's here because they have surely
eased my mind.
Thanks for caring!
Good luck next week! I had a colonoscopy last year and the best advice I got was to buy some baby wipes to use while you're doing the prep. I'm sure you have plenty of baby wipes around, but just make sure you use them instead of toilet paper. The worst part of the prep for me was how raw you get from all the going/wiping.
I didn't have any cramping or terrible, urgent urges to go. I just stayed near the bathroom and it wasn't too bad at all. The stuff I had to drink tasted awful because it's very high in salt, and it was hard to get down. The procedure was a nice rest after not eating for a few days and being in the bathroom: they give you an IV and it's so nice to be rehydrated: I started feeling less week in 10 or 15 mintues after the IV was started.
It took about a week to get my biopsy report back, and all was well. I hope you get good results too!
Thanks so much for all of the info. I am SO GLAD to hear the baby wipes advice. I will do that for sure.
It's great to hear all about this so now I won't be so nervous. Also, it's nice to hear people who have had great results too.
I just wish it was this week and not next to get it over with. I have an HR conference tomorrow that I really need to attend as HR Manager and of course that was the only day they could get me in this week.
The prep is the worst part. The procedure itself is not bad and you are asleep for it. Good luck!

I had my colonoscopy today, which I have to say was no big deal. The worst was drinking that "STUFF".
They found that I had internal hemmorhoids and where they "met" was torn. The "wall" of skin where they met was torn. They did a little repair and said that it actually had started to heal on its own. So, all is well!
We are very relieved.
Thanks to all of you for your concern and well-wishes!
I'm off to take a nap as I'm real tired from the meds they used......
Thanks again!
ps....the pains that I was having in my lower belly have gone. It must have been something non-related and also no big deal.....
I'm so glad to not have this stuff to worry about anymore.
Thanks again!
