Thank you all! The infection seems to be improving, but the doc thinks it will take another round of antibiotics. The pain is not nearly as bad now, but he will be on a soft foods diet for a while yet.

Jasho - make sure he is lying down. that makes it worse. after I got my wisdom pulled (they were in my sinuses) I was in excruciating pain and infected and it was horrible. iwas literally in bed for a month and could eat anything and barely opened my mouth. My entire face was black & blue for nearly a month so I could even go out in public if I wanted to.
I know how much it hurts and b/c of where they were, I still get infections (usually after a cold or right before (again they were in my sinuses so its a big mess)) and they hurt like H@#$!! I will be thinking of him and praying he gets some relief!

BayGirl- Thanks for the prayers! DH is at work and his boss just noticed the swelling is back after a week of things looking and feeling normal. He is starting to look like a chipmunk again, lol. He did lay down for about four days at first, but he is stubborn. He got the infection not long after. He has gone thru 2 antibiotics and still the infection has come back along with the pain. He is on powerful pain meds, but knowing him he will want to go back to work tomorrow after his dentist appoitment.
