Today our lawyer paid someone to stand outside the US Embassy in Guatemala starting at 2 am- then he got there at 8:45am to take his place. He finally got to submit our papers to the Embassy to get Joel's visa. He tried for a week- the lines are LONG- and the backlog now for visas- the embassy pressured guatemala to release cases- they did- and now can't keep up with the demand!!!!!!!!! If all works out- because now- the possibility is that the embassy will ask for new papers (to redo something) because they're trying to ease their loads and are saying- OH THIS NEEDS TO BE REDONE... we need prayers ours will go through- and Wednesday will get the visa- suppose to take only 48 hours. Thursday the lawyer already set up Joel's exit physical (to be cancelled if we don't get visa)
I have to believe that they will let us through- so that Friday we can fly and have joel in our arms forever... then our exit interview at the embassy will be Monday- God Willing...
PLEASE PLEASE pray and keep us in your thoughts- we're in the home stetch- and I want to go home
I cannot wait till I can read a post from you saying you are on your way to the airport. I know how exciting that will feel!!

I have every part of my body crossed for you and really hope that you will be holding your little boy in a few days. I know how frustrating embassy 'politics' can be - it took me 8 months to get my visa to live in the USA!
My thoughts are with you at this exciting, but frustrating time.
