Christian Cysters-
My family could use all the prayers that we can get today. Over the summer my aunt was killed in a head on collision with a drunk driver. One of my aunt and uncles friends was also killed in this crash. The other driver has plead guilty to two counts of manslaughter in connection with this. As part of the plea arrangement they have dropped some other charges related to the accident. Today (April 4th) is the sentencing for this man. His lawyer has recommended to the courts that he only receive probation for the offenses!! This has been a terribly upsetting time for all of us, but I'm not certian what will happen to my uncle if they don't lock this man away for a while. He is alone at home now, because they had no children, and I don't think he has been handling her death very well.
Thanks,
Katie
Father, I pray for this family. I can't imagine losing so many at one time. Father, I lift Katie's uncle up to you. I ask that you would calm his heart, give him peace father. I pray also that you would give him strength during such a hard time. Katie says she doesn't think he's doing well alone. What a sad time father. One day having the one you love by your side, the next, losing her and being home alone to think of her. FAther, I pray that you would put Your arms around him & cover him with Your love as a father would do to His son. I pray also for the family. That they would pray for Him daily, set their feet around Him as an army in prayer. Jesus....I pray that you would also give them peace and the words to say to help him and each other make it through this time. Give them what they need father! I pray for interception...that you would intercede in such a tragic moment in her uncles life....that you would give him a new focus. I also pray for justice...Your justice in this situation in Jesus name I pray...AMEN!
I'm so sorry!

thank you all so much. i called my mother this afternoon and talked to my younger brother, as apparently mom and dad were still out and about from the sentencing. they did sentence this man to 3 1/2 years, sounds like he will be serving concurrently rather than consecutively. thanks to the lord for that much at least. but please still keep my uncle in your prayers. i'm sure there is still a lot of healing for him to do!
thanks again
katie
I'm sure there will be alot of healing as well. He's in our prayers....may I have his first name to put in my devotionals? I'd like to pray for him daily. He's going to have a mountain to climb ahead. It's not something you just get over. What a lovely niece you are!
