Default Praying for healing ?

I am trying to keep praying for healing for my pcos but I find it so easy to just get discouraged and stop. I was thinking it would be cool if we could form a little group and just hold each other accountable to keep praying even if it isn't happening and we're weary of doing it and it seems useless....is anyone else up for this ?

Marisa,
I am praying to be healed of my PCOS too.

I too become discouraged and sometimes think... Am I being selfish? There are people & children suffering with horrible diseases who need prayer etc... and here I am loosing a bit of hair and am hairy elsewhere or whatever I am feeling this month...depressed etc..

But, I still pray for others as well as myself and hope that we all can continue to pray for each other. And so that scientists & doctors will research and help find methods of controlling these aweful symptoms we all have.

I want to join. I have also been praying to be healed. I want to have children. Plus it would be nice not to feel horrible all the time with all the problems of having PCOS. Some times I wonder what I did that was so wrong to have to suffer with this. I will be praying for you.

Doesn't seem a lot of ladies are interested in healing. Doesn't lessen the reality of divine healing available through the precious blood of Jesus. Maybe this can be a thread for encouragement for ladies who have faith (or who struggle, but are working on their faith) in God for their healing.

"I cried unto the Lord, and He healed me." Psalm 30:2

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue" Proverbs 18:21

Thanks girls!

And Isaiah55-11 welcome!!!

I'm not sure what 'divine healing' means, but yes I do believe in healing and praying for it and not stopping!

What do you ladies think about just posting in maybe every few days/week how we've been doing with our praying and then we can encourage each other and hold each othe accountable...?

I would be glad to check in every few days!

To me prayer is such an important part of my life, I feel good afterwards, sort of stregnthend to go on and face my day.
It gives me hope and helps me to be strong.

I am grateful for everything that I have. ( I just felt like saying that "out loud")

God Bless

I have had many of the same thoughts, but i realize, maybe this is just one of the ways God is teaching us to grow through difficulties...think about how much less about the world you would understand if you never had PCOS. Think about how much less you would trust God if you didn't have PCOS (i've been having problems with this recently...worrying about whether or not i'll be able to have kids, worrying about what is wrong with me, worrying about what i've been doing that has made me regular now). On sunday at my church we had a guest preacher, and he made an awesome point: Our trials and suffering is not a show of God's dislike of us, it is our imperfections being boiled to the surface so that we can be rid of them, and if we pray for him to make our lives easy, we are working against him (the passage he was working out of was 1 Peter chapter 1). It was an awesome sermon, and made me realize just how unthankful i've been toward God when He is just helping me through the sanctification process. So don't pray for healing, unless you truly believe your illness is unjust; pray that God will help you through your troubles, and teach you what you need to learn in them.

Thanks for posting hobbitcutie. It's true that God does use the suffering in our lives to teach us stuff and you're right that "Our trials and suffering is not a show of God's dislike of us."

I'm not sure if I totally agree with this though, "if we pray for him to make our lives easy, we are working against him (the passage he was working out of was 1 Peter chapter 1)......So don't pray for healing, unless you truly believe your illness is unjust."

I don't think praying will ever totally make our lives easy while we're on earth. And I'm not even sure if all of us Christians will get healed on earth. For some of us maybe heaven will be our healing!

Opps I didn't mean to turn this thread into a theological debate If people want to discuss healing theology maybe we could open another one for that...??

I'd like to think that I pray for healing because God said to! I'm not sure if that's always totally why I pray though...sometimes I'm just totally frustrated and begging him to take it away...and sometimes I do it because I know some people do/will get healed now and I'm just hoping I'm one!

I think the biggest thing about praying for healing is it helps me to focus on God as my source. Whether healing comes through healthy eating, medicine or excercise, God is the ultimate source and he's the one that gives me EVERYTHING... It helps me to be grateful/humble and realize how utterly dependant I am upon him....

About praying for healing... in the last few days I've been doing alot of praying for healing.. for one thing I've had a cold which isn't hot at all! (that part was just mostly desperation!) Also a lot of people on one of the email lists I'm on have been sick ....
If anyone wants to pray there's:

someone with bells palsy (basically temporary stroke symptoms)
one girl that's got something that looks like crohns
a girl who broke her femur (i think -thigh bone)
one woman's mother just broke her hip and is on the verge of death....

I will add all you girls to my (mental list too!

I have to see that I actually see my PCOS as a blessing...before going through infertility issues, I took my life for granted and didn't believe in God or anything to do with him. Now, I talk to him all the time and enjoy learning everything I can about him. I used to smoke, drink a lot, and use illegal drugs, now I am just concentrating on my marriage, future babies and learning the bible. I think this disease is God's way of drawing me closer to him....

I don't think that came out quite how i meant it to...because i don't entirely agree with myself on that, which is usually a bad idea! I guess what i meant is try to find the good things about your illness, but still pray that God will make PCOS help you instead of hurt you all the time.

I agree with the premise that it is our trials (PCOS) that bring us closer to the Healer. I praise God for this trial of my faith-and that's what it is-a trial of faith for me. And it has brought me immensely closer to God, bringing me to prayer-and fast-a whole lot more than I used to.

Isaiah 53:5 "But He [Jesus] was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed."

Isn't it true that the same blood of Christ that is sufficient for our salvation is powerful enough to heal our bodies as well?

I've made up my mind as to the answer.

Blessings.

I have just read some things last nite on praying for healing .. I am going to try this too, i figure it doesnt hurt to try!!! I wanted to share this article with all of you too! It gave me a new outlook on this

The Name of Jesus!

The first part of the New Commandment is to believe on
the name of Jesus Christ (1 John 3:23). His name is
our way into the very presence of God. His name gives
us dominion in this world. There is unlimited power
when we speak the name of Jesus in faith. Therefore,
we need to understand the authority we have in the
name of Jesus!

Rev 19:13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood,
and his name is the Word of God.

John 1:-2, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with
God in the beginning. The Word became flesh and made
his dwelling among us.

Therefore when we say, "In the name of Jesus," we have
the power of the Word behind us!! It's like quoting
the Bible from cover to cover. You have the
whole corporate structure of the universe backing you
up when you speak the name of Jesus. Let us look at
more Scriptures on our authority in the name of Jesus!

John 14:12-14 Verily Verily, I say unto you, he that
believes on Me, the works that I do shall he do also;
and greater works than these shall he do; because I go
unto my Father. And whatsoever you shall ask (demand
in Greek) in my Name, that will I do, that the Father
may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask any
thing in My name, I will do it.

Mark 16:17-18 And these signs will accompany those
who believe: In my name they will drive out demons;
they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up
snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly
poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place
their hands on sick people, and they will get well."

Luke 10:17 "Lord, even the demons are subject to us
in Your name."

The demons are subject to the name of Jesus. This
happened before Jesus took Satan's power to the cross!

John 15:16 You have not chosen me, but I have chosen
you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring
forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain;
that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My
name, He may give it to you.

John 16:23 And in that day you shall ask me nothing.
Verily Verily, I say unto you, whatsoever you shall
ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you.
Hitherto, have you asked nothing in My name; Ask, and
you shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Phil 2: 8-11 (Amp) And after He (Jesus) had appeared
in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still
further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of
death, even the death of the cross! 9 Therefore
[because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him
and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above
every name, 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee
should must bow, in heaven and on earth and under the
earth, 11And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess
and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the
glory of God the Father.

The name of Jesus is above the name of every sickness
and disease. The name of Jesus is above the name of
migraines, cancer, infertility, miscarriage, morning
sickness, or blood pressure problems to name a few.
These names have to bow down to the name of Jesus and
obey! If we tell them to be removed, then they will
be removed. If we tell them to die at the root then
they are to die at the root. If we resist them, then
they must flee from us! So what are you waiting for?
Begin to speak to your circumstances, speak to the
sickness in your body and command it in the name of
Jesus to bow down and leave! Nothing is impossible
for those that believe in Jesus!

Therefore, for couples going through infertility you
can command your reproductive system to bow down and
obey the name of Jesus and come in line with your
spirit. You command your body to function perfectly
because you ARE fearfully and wonderfully made! Your
body is subject to you - not the other way around!
Lay your hands on your womb and by faith speak healing
into your system. Then finally you can command your
body to conceive in Jesus name!

Isn't that simple? This is so easy but is very
powerful! This is one of the first things that I teach
the women who come to the ministry. The majority
of the women who come to this ministry are in a
desperate situation (in the natural). Usually they
have tried every avenue and like the woman with the
issue of blood instead of getting better they have
grown worse. Praise God they learn how to take
authority over their bodies and rather than wait for
God to heal them they learn how to receive what He has
already provided for them. They apply their healing by
simply taking authority over their bodies and command
them in Jesus name on how they are going to function.
The majority of the women end up with perfect 28-day
cycles without any complications! This includes all
the women who haven't had cycles or who haven't
ovulated for months. Your husbands can also speak
over their bodies. Actually you can do this for any
area! I had an under active thyroid and was told I
would be on medication for the rest of my life. Within
6 months I was totally healed! I told my body how it
was going to function and I commanded my thyroid and
metabolism to come into line with the Word! What are
you facing in your body right now? Don't put up with
it any longer, simply take authority over it and you
command it to function how you want it to according to
the Word
of God).

I know many women who have amazing testimonies on how
they were able to totally change their situation by
simply taking authority over the situation and in the
name of Jesus speaking to their bodies. As a result
of this I have witnessed miscarriages totally healed,
dead babies come back to life (including blighted
ovum's, chemical pregnancies), babies move position in
the womb (even as miraculous as from the tube to the
womb!). Placenta's relocate from off the cervix to
the top of the uterus (within a week), overcoming pain
and/or complications in the labour, overcoming many
different postnatal issues, also many miraculously
recovering after both minor and major surgeries, many
who had long drawn out irregular painful and
complicated cycles end up having perfect 28 day short
and painless cycles,
unbalanced hormones getting back into harmony, ovaries
that had stopped working to working efficiently, cysts
(PCO) disappear, endometriosis disappear, under active
and overactive thyroids functioning in perfect
balance, unbalanced emotions come back in balance,
spirits of fear, depression, oppression leave, lives
being restored and seeing many walking in a spirit of
victory.

I cannot stress enough that when you start applying
this to any area in your life that you spend time in
the Word in order to build your faith in this area.
There is amazing authority in the name of Jesus but
you need to know who you are in Christ and your
authority in Him. You also need to be able to expect
to see results when speak His name. You can't merely
speak it out without believing that it is going to
happen otherwise you will only be deceiving yourself.
When you know who you are in Christ then nothing can
stand in your way from receiving a breakthrough!

When you begin to take authority over your body (or
your situation) don't aim too high. While absolutely
nothing is impossible the Bible says that you will
only receive what you can believe. So, in order for
the impossible to happen you need to believe for it.
Therefore, start at where you can believe and build on
that. Jesus has already overcome all forms of
sickness
and disease but sometimes there are mindsets on the
size or condition. We believe that it is bigger than
it actually is. We need to build our faith to overcome
any situation. It doesn't matter if it is a headache
or a tumour; you need faith to overcome both. To have
the revelation that you will have your own biological
children is great and is the first step but if you
have
a complication in your body then you also need to
believe that you will conceive in spite of this. In
many cases you will therefore need a miracle to
conceive. If this applies then you need to build your
faith for a miracle. But my point is; if you can't
believe for healing of your cycles or from any
complication within your system then how can you
believe for a miracle? Therefore don't just call in
the pregnancy and aim for that but also call in the
healing and balance of your body.

Frequently Asked Questions

1) Why concentrate on healing of my body or for my
Menstrual Cycles? I just want a baby!

I feel it is important to work on healing of your body
and for your menstrual cycle over the conception of
your child. You are starting with the very core of
your reproductive system so it is beneficial to have
it
working efficiently and in perfect balance. This not
only builds your faith it also obliterates anything
physically from holding you back from conceiving. We
will only receive what we can believe so if you can't
believe for healing of your cycles then how can you
believe for conception? Therefore if you have a
complication in your body then take time out and
begin to believe for healing. You should be able to
see results within one to two months. This then helps
you to build your faith on the next stage - conception
and then pregnancy. You need to learn to walk and
live by faith and not just use it for a one off event
or a crisis situation. You will understand this when
you are pregnant. There are many issues and fears
that
you can face so you need to know your authority and
how to apply it. If you are threatened with sickness,
crazy emotions, fears or with miscarriage then
you just simply continue to apply what you have
already applied with your cycles (or other areas). I
cannot stress enough that where possible to begin to
build your faith BEFORE a situation happens. This can
be simply done by praying over your body and also your
unborn baby. When you have built up your faith for a
situation then can already have the victory in
your spirit before you get there. Whereas to start
when something happens then (generally speaking) you
need to build your faith and overcome fear first
before you feel that you can attack the situation.
Perfect examples of this are miscarriage, nausea in
pregnancy, the growth and development of your baby,
the position of your baby and other things like
migraine headaches and re-occurring pain from things
like arthritic pain, sporting injuries, menstrual
cramps etc.

Ladies menstrual cycles and headaches are nothing
compared to what you can experience during pregnancy,
childbirth and the postnatal period. There are many
symptoms and complications that can happen so you will
need to know how to apply your authority over your
body (and sometimes over your baby's body)in order to
overcome the situation. Most of the symptoms are
minor but there are a few life threatening ones as
well. So don't wait for the life threatening ones
before you start to pray but overcome the minor areas
first. This also builds your faith to overcome pain
and complications in childbirth. If you want to
believe for a pain free and uncomplicated birth then
it is important that you learn how to overcome the
pregnancy first. How can you believe for a pain free
birth if you can't believe for healing of
constipation, backache or heart burn? There are also
many complications that can occur in the postnatal
period. But you don't have to experience what the
women in the world experience in this area either!
You can continue to walk and live by faith and receive
a quick, speedy and painless recovery, balanced
emotions, ease with breastfeeding, a settled baby who
feeds and sleeps well, a healthy baby that does not
get the sicknesses and diseases of this world etc
Therefore begin now with your menstrual cycles and
when you get the victory in this area then continue in
the spirit of victory and build your faith for your
pregnancy, the birth and the postnatal period.
Therefore starting with menstrual cycles is how you
will learn how to build your faith and overcome every
other area of childbearing.

What I usually suggest is to aim for 3 regular cycles
(28 days, no pain or complications etc) and healing
for any sickness like PCO, endo, unbalanced hormones
etc. During the first 3 months the women are learning
how to walk by faith for conception, pregnancy and
birth. I get them to meditate on the Word in these
areas plus on who they are in Christ. Generally
speaking by the end of the three months the majority
of women are more than ready for a pregnancy. They
have received healing of their bodies and have built
their faith to believe for the conception and
pregnancy. When I first taught this
EVERY woman in that meeting conceived that year! A
lot of them were pregnant by the 4th month.

2) Do we need to believe for a 28-day cycle?

There is no right or wrong way it is according to what
you chose to believe for. For example: If you have a
healthy regular cycle that is 25 days or say 32 days
then you may be happy with that. You may also be
perfectly happy to have an irregular cycle or only one
cycle every couple of months. So, it will be up to you
personally what you want to believe for. I had
irregular cycles that were long, drawn out, painful
and emotional. I really disliked having them and I
would have been happy if they never came back. I
changed my mind on this after I read that I was
fearfully and wonderfully made. The Lord created us
to have a monthly cycle. Our bodies are very
intricate and when in balance it functions like a well
oiled machine. I made the decision to walk by faith in
the area of my health and I began with my menstrual
cycles. I knew that what doctors considered to be
normal was a 28-day cycle with ovulation around day 14
so that is what I chose to believe for. At the end of
the day I want my body to be healthy and in balance
and running at peak performance. I do not want to
allow my body to do it's own thing and be out of
balance. There are so many complications that can
occur simply because of imbalance in the female
system.

The main focus I want to get across with our cycles is
that to pray for a healthy and balanced body that has
regular and uncomplicated cycles. If you can't
believe for something as simple as this then it may be
a big challenge for you to believe for anything else.
I find cycles are a good starting point because it is
easy and you see results very quickly. If you don't
then I would suggest you get in the Word for a deeper
revelation.

3) Do we need to believe for ovulation to take place
on day 14?

"As Above"

4) How do we 'not' focus on the fertile time and also
believe it to be happening on day 14?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart! If you know
your authority in Christ and you have spoken to your
body in His name and your cycles are regular you can
know by physical symptoms and/or by faith you are
ovulating on day 14.

Ladies forget the fertile time! You need to trust God
to conceive! Yes I know that you need to be wise and
knowledgeable etc but don't put more faith and
confidence in a "time" rather than a knowing in your
spirit! I have lost count on how many women who have
testified that the month that they finally conceived
was when they had handed it over to God. A part of
this was that they had only been intimate maybe once
or twice that month and not around their fertile
time!! God is so much bigger than the "perfect time".

if you are discouraged that you missed the perfect
time shows that you have faith in your efforts and
what you can do to help. If you already have in your
spirit that you HAVE conceived then sooner than later
it will happen! I also know many women who have used
different forms of birth control and who were not TTC
and they conceived! How much more so then when you
have already received it by faith? It HAS to happen!

Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart! Lean not on
your own understanding. In ALL your ways acknowledge
Him and He will make your paths straight! Remember God
is bigger. His Word is true. Ask in faith and it
will be delivered to you!

5) Do we 'call' a period in?

If you have done a pregnancy test and you are not
pregnant then yes! I know of women who were able to
call a pregnancy in BUT they believed this! They
were FULLY PERSUADED that they were in fact pregnant.
Not because of symptoms but because of what they had
in their spirit. They had a specific Word from the
Lord and they stood on that. Mark 11 tells us we will
only
receive what we believe. So if your cycle is late and
a pregnancy test showed up negative and you are not
fully persuaded that you are pregnant then call the
cycle in. You then continue to stand on the Word. You
may also need to get a fresh revelation so that you
can overcome any doubts or discouragement.

6) How do you believe for a 28-day cycle, yet still
believe for pregnancy?

I suggest that if you have any complications with your
body or cycles then to start believing for healing for
your cycles first. After 2-3 normal cycles you can
then aim to believe for the pregnancy. So once you
have received healing of your cycles you no longer
need to believe for it b/c you have it! Then you can
believe for the pregnancy knowing that your body is
healthy and in balance etc.

7) How Often Should We speak to Our Bodies?

Healing comes two ways 1) Instantly
2) Progressively

So if your healing isn't immediate it will be a
progressive healing. Either way it will be according
to your faith (I am not talking about when the gift
of the Holy Spirit for healing is in action). If
after a while there are no signs of improvement then I
would suggest that you seek God for why it is not
happening (what is holding you back) and also get into
the Word for a fresh revelation.

When it comes to speaking to your bodies and
commanding them in Jesus name to come into line with
the Word of God one question I would ask is "Do you
expect your body to respond when you command it to
change?" Remember if there is not an instant change
you should at least be seeing signs of change. If you
just simply speak over your body and hope for the best
then you will only be deceiving yourself. You have
got to know the authority you have in the name of
Jesus and have the faith to expect to see whatever you
speak over to come into line.

The answer to this question will be according to your
faith. If you believe when you command your body to
respond then I would say you would only need to pray
once then just receive the answer by faith. However,
I do not believe there is a right or wrong way when it
comes to how many times. There is no formula. When I
first received the revelation on the authority I had
in the name of Jesus I would pray over my cycles every
time I felt a concern about it. I found this kept me
focussed and it also strengthened my faith. So I
don't think it really matters how many times you feel
you need to say it BUT what does matter is that you
believe it and you expect your body (or whatever you
are praying for) to respond.

The Word of God is true! Not only have I received
healing of irregular and painful cycles, I have also
received healing from a hormonal imbalance, an
under-active thyroid and several other forms of
sicknesses. I have also applied this to my pregnancy
and told my body how it was going to carry, give birth
and how to recover after the birth. I didn't
experience any sickness in my pregnancies or
complications in the birth or postnatal period that I
was not able to overcome.

Last year here in Sydney I met several PG women who
had complications either with the baby in the wrong
position or the placenta lying over their cervix.
I just prayed a simple prayer and commanded either the
babies to turn or the placenta's to be relocated in
Jesus name. All but one woman's situations changed.
The one lady whose baby didn't turn had a caesarean
and found out that the cord was wrapped around the
baby's neck so tightly that the doctors said if she
was born vaginally she would have died. The woman
applied what
we taught her and she spoke over her body to recover
without pain or complications and she was up and out
of bed without any pain relief after a caesarean! The
medical staff was amazed at her recovery! The doctor
even said to her that he wished that all his Caesar
patients recovered like she did!

Ladies when you pray over your bodies to have a
regular, and a pain free cycle etc then it should come
into line. If your body remains the same then get
tenacious. SAY NO! Body you are to bow down to the
name of Jesus and then tell it what to do. If you
really want the victory over this then I would suggest
that you take time out and concentrate on this issue.
Build your faith every day. This should not take more
than one - two months. If it does then you will need
to seek God for a fresh revelation in His Word on
this.

8) When does your confessions become legalistic?

Speaking over your body can become legalistic if you
get into fear if you say the wrong thing. The Bible
tells us that out of the abundance of the heart the
mouth speaks. So, whatever is coming out of your
mouth is usually what is in your heart. Confessing
and speaking out the desired result by calling those
things that aren't as though they are is good but
faith is not
just mere confession. Faith is a knowing in your
spirit. When you know something you can't help but
speak it out! If you are speaking out something that
you don't really believe then it can easily become
legalistic. Whereas when you believe it in your heart
your conversation simply lines up with it. For
example: when you become a Christian you don't have to
force (or remind) yourself to say the right thing and
speak about
Jesus do you? No! You automatically speak it out.
Your heart has been changed! So, out of the abundance
of your heart your mouth automatically speaks. What is
in your heart?

Note also that it is not about how many times you
pray. Repetition and the number of prayers do not
bring it to pass. Faith is how we inherit the kingdom
of God. Generally speaking praying for something over
and over can build your faith and it also helps you to
stay focussed. Remember that Jesus has already paid
the price for all sickness in your body you just need
to receive your healing by faith. So, you can't earn
or work for it because it is a free gift. So, you
just need a revelation that it belongs to you then
simply receive it.

9) What does the Bible have to say about menstrual
cycles?

As far as I know there is nothing specific in the
Bible on menstrual cycles. What I do know is that the
Bible does tell us that we are fearfully and
wonderfully made. It also tells us that God has set
up times, dates and seasons for a reason. So God
created our system complete with ovulation and a
menstrual cycle for a reason. In a nutshell our whole
monthly cycle
revolves around hormones doing their job correctly. If
there is an imbalance then that is where the trouble
begins. If Jesus has paid the price for our healing
then why allow our bodies to function with an
imbalance? God did not create our cycles to be
irregular, painful and an emotional experience. My
body now works in complete health and balance in this
area so I don't feel anything when I have a cycle. I
feel perfectly normal. This is also how pregnancy and
childbirth is meant to be. So why put up with
anything
less than this?

Smile I'd be interested

I'd like to be apart of it. Perhaps we can keep it in the post. I don't want to give out personal info though, though I don't think theres any perverts in here:- but for my peace of mind. You know a thought just occured to me. It seems allot of cysters on this board feel guilty praying for themselves, but we shouldn't. God has no limit on prayer, and I could pray all day. I pray for healing because I know that if I hate myself, and we all have some level of loathing toward ourselves, I find it hard to love other people. I should put more faith in God. I know I tend not to, but I would like a group like this. We need to pray for healing. Jesus is the best medicine. He raised Lazarus from the dead, so why not PCOS? Gods_Romantic, maybe you could make a yahoo or MSN group. They're free, and we could all log in and write daily prayers or something. A community of Prayer Warriors!
