My allergist prescribed prednisone to try and get rid of my asthma/allergy related cough. It's a bit better but I'm having some side effects. I've been eating like there is no tomorrow and I've been hot and sweaty even when it's only 70 degrees in my classroom. One of the worst is that I'm tired all the time; even more so than usual. All I want to do is go home and sleep. Friday night I slept from 11pm-10am Saturday and took a 3 hour nap.
Is this normal? I finished my last dose on Saturday morning so I hope this will be ending soon.
TIA,

That is exactly what happened to me on it. Gained 10lbs in 5 days! Good news is it wears off when you are done with them. Give it a few days. Hope you perk up soon!

Thanks for the replies. I'm already feeling better today. I went to bed at 8:30pm last night and was asleep before 9:30pm. I got in 9 hours of sleep. The nurse said it causes people to get hyper, but I've been so tired. Then he asked me how I've been sleeping. Duh, I haven't been sleeping well! No wonder I'm so tired all the time. The sweating and overheating is lessening and now I just have to put some tape over my mouth. j/k Good to know that I'm not alone.

whenever I fill a script for predinsone I swing by the freezer section for stouffers mac and cheese, the family size...it's starch madness. I also have asthma and whenever I get sick it gets bad and my Dr. prescribes it...I hate it! but it does work.
