Default Pregant/what can I take

Okay, I think I may be pregnant!!! After 9 months of trying. But I was wondering....can I take Spiro while I am pregnant. I was just getting ready to make an appointment to ask about it because my hair is slowly disappearing. But now I am wondering if I should even bother. If you are pregnant can you take spiro? What about Saw Palmetto?
Thanks
Holly

No you cannot take it while pregnant. It can cause serious birth defects.

Unhappy

Hello. I was dx almost 2years ago. 1 year ago I started losing my hair and didn't realize it was a symptom of PCOS. Then I got pg and it stopped and grew in so nice and thick. Now my daughter is 4 months old and I'm losing it is mass amounts again. I haven't found anything that helps. Sorry for the downer, just thought I'd share. On the bright side during your pg your hair will be thick and wonderful!

Hi Holly,

Congratulations!

My doctor also advised me not to take spiro while pregnant (he wouldn't even give me an rx for it while I was trying to conceive).

I have been off spiro for about 6 months now and am finally pregnant. I have to say, my hair growth is worse without the spiro. I have just started using this Jergens Smooth Legs lotion that is supposed to slow hair growth. The active ingredient is some kind of soy extract, so it seems like as if it should be safe. I'll let you know if it works.

Best,

Lana
